No single independent list ranks London fintech employers, so this article combines several. Mastercard is the only company named by three independent London-relevant publishers (Great Place to Work UK, Glassdoor and Built In London). Kraken, Block, Adyen, Remitly, Carta, Plaid and Capitolis each appear in one list we fetched on 1 October 2026. Finjobsly's live data, as of 20 October 2026, covers 36 tracked employers and 4,182 active roles, of which 359 at 21 employers were London-based. Only Block, Adyen, Carta and Plaid are both recognised and hiring in London in that panel. The lists were not re-read for this update, so list membership is as of 1 October 2026 and hiring figures are as of 20 October 2026. Recognition, employer-published information and live hiring are kept in separate sections below.
\nKey findings
- Mastercard is named in Great Place to Work UK's 2026 Financial Services list, Glassdoor's 2026 London list (rank 2) and Built In London's fintech workplace page. It is not in Finjobsly's panel.
- Of 359 London roles in Finjobsly's data (36 tracked employers, 4,182 active roles on 20 October 2026), 47 (13.1%) sit at employers named in at least one list: Carta 18, Block 12, Adyen 9 and Plaid 8.
- Checkout.com, Monzo, Stripe, Zopa, Ripple and Thought Machine hold 248 of the 359 London roles but were not named in any list fetched for this article. That is not evidence of anything about them, only of what the lists cover.
- Pay ranges are shown on 60 of 359 London roles (16.7%), and 46 of those 60 are Monzo's. London pay medians below are therefore Monzo-driven.
- Employer pages differ in what they say: Adyen describes itself as office-first, Kraken as remote-first, and Monzo as flexible with offices in four cities.
What criteria define a good fintech employer here?
This article does not rank employers or score them. It uses four signals, each from a different kind of source. First, recognition: whether an independent publisher with a stated or inferable method names the company. Second, presence: whether the company's own pages, or live job postings, show a London location. Third, disclosure: what the employer itself publishes about working model and benefits. Fourth, hiring: how many London roles the company has open in Finjobsly's panel, and how many show a pay range.
A company that meets more of these signals is worth a closer look. None of them measures how it feels to work somewhere day to day. Review-site ratings are self-selected opinions, so no Glassdoor or Indeed company rating is used in this article. For a wider, non-city view see our national guide to the best fintech companies to work for.
\nWhich London fintech employers appear in independent lists?
We fetched seven independent lists and pages. Three are London-specific and two are US-scoped but name companies with London offices. The counts below are publishers that named the company, as verified from the pages fetched on 1 October 2026.

| Block | 1 (Built In London) | Through live postings only; careers page returned no content | Yes, 12 London roles |

Great Place to Work UK, Best Workplaces in Financial Services and Insurance 2026
Employee Benefits reported on 2 September 2026 that Mastercard is among the large and super-large winners, alongside Coventry Building Society Group, Admiral, Allianz, Markel and Hastings Direct. Great Place to Work UK's own page states that 85% of the result comes from employee survey answers and 15% from an assessment of leadership, innovation and values, with a minimum Trust Index score of 65%. No London-founded fintech was named in the winners we could read, so this list adds only Mastercard to the shortlist.
\nGlassdoor Best Places to Work 2026, London
Glassdoor's London list ranks 50 employers using reviews posted between 17 October 2024 and 16 October 2025. Glassdoor says its Economic Research team applies a proprietary algorithm to the quantity, quality and consistency of reviews, with no self-nominations. Mastercard is ranked 2 and Kraken 7. Banks on the list include Standard Chartered, NatWest, Barclays and the Bank of England. Workplace Journal dated the UK-wide release 22 January 2026. Because this is built from self-selected reviews, treat it as a signal of review volume and tone, not a measured survey.
\nBuilt In London, best fintech companies to work for
Built In London's page covers 966 fintech companies and highlights Mastercard, Block, Remitly, Simply Business and Adyen. The page did not state a methodology we could verify, so we treat it as a directory-style signal and weight it accordingly.
\nLists with a US scope that still touch London employers
Fortune's 2025 Best Large Workplaces in Financial Services and Insurance, produced with Great Place to Work from survey feedback covering more than 194,000 US employees, ranks Carta 39th and Mastercard 15th. American Banker's Best Fintechs to Work For 2026, published 18 May 2026 with 33 companies, names Plaid (14th) and Capitolis (18th). The article says the 33 preserved remote work options and non-salary benefits but does not describe the selection process. Both lists are US-scoped, so they say nothing specific about London teams. They are included only because those employers have London offices.
We also checked LinkedIn's Top Companies 2026 (28 April 2026). The US top 10 financial services entries it showed were JPMorgan Chase, Wells Fargo, Capital One and Bank of America, with no fintech named. The full ranked list page was blocked to our fetch. Fast Company's 2026 financial services and fintech category named six companies, none verified as London-based.
\nWhat do London employers publish about working and benefits?
These are the employers' own statements, not independent verification.
- Monzo: its careers page lists offices in London, Cardiff, Dublin and Barcelona, with many staff working remotely. It lists 26 days' holiday plus bank holidays, a £1,000 learning budget, pension matching of 4% up to 6%, and 26 weeks of paid parental leave at full pay.
- Adyen: its careers site names London and New York among its main hubs and calls Adyen office-first with flexibility when needed. Benefits include health insurance, a commute allowance and an Adyen+ monthly contribution.
- Stripe: its jobs page lists London among 24 or more offices and says benefits are on a separate page that we did not fetch.
- Carta: its careers page lists London among its offices but gives no working-model or benefits detail.
- Plaid and Capitolis: Plaid lists a London office; Capitolis lists New York headquarters, Tel Aviv and London, and says it values in-person collaboration.
- Kraken: its careers page describes a remote-first model and names no office cities.
Mastercard's careers page did not name locations when fetched, so its London presence rests on a company-records listing of Mastercard Europe Services Limited at 10 Upper Bank Street.
\nWhich recognised employers have open London roles in Finjobsly's panel?
Finjobsly data covers 36 tracked employers, not the whole market. On 20 October 2026 it held 4,182 active roles, of which 359 at 21 employers were London-based. Stripe is 18.5% of the whole panel (775 of 4,182 roles) and 14.8% of London roles (53), while Checkout.com alone holds 75 London roles (20.9%), so counts for a few employers weigh heavily in any London total.
| Employer | London roles | Multi-city roles included | Senior to Director level | Pay range shown | Named in a list above |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Checkout.com | 75 | 0 | 43 | 0 | No |
| Monzo | 53 | 35 | 46 | 46 | No |
| Stripe | 53 | 16 | 42 | 1 | No |
| Zopa | 34 | 0 | 26 | 0 | No |
| Carta | 18 | 0 | 12 | 0 | Yes (1) |
| Thought Machine | 17 | 0 | 12 | 0 | No |
| Ripple | 16 | 0 | 13 | 0 | No |
| Block | 12 | 0 | 8 | 0 | Yes (1) |
| Ramp | 12 | 0 | 8 | 3 | No |
| Adyen | 9 | 3 | 9 | 0 | Yes (1) |
| OakNorth | 9 | 0 | 8 | 0 | No |
| Plaid | 8 | 8 | 5 | 2 | Yes (1) |
| Wise | 8 | 0 | 8 | 1 | No |
Finjobsly data, 20 October 2026, n=359 London roles. Eight smaller employers (Toast 7, FloQast 6, Robinhood 6, Fireblocks 5, GoCardless 5, Mollie 3, Ledger 2, Coinbase 1) are omitted from the table. Roles are counted by the word London in location, city or raw location. Roles with no usable city are not counted, so figures are floors. A role listed in several cities, such as Cardiff, London or Remote (UK), is counted once here and flagged in the multi-city column (65 of 359 in total). Senior to Director level counts Senior, Staff, Lead, Principal, Director, VP and Executive. Pay range shown means a valid minimum and maximum, with implausibly low values excluded.
Role mix at the recognised employers, by title keywords: Block's 12 London roles are mostly sales titles (8, with 3 other and 1 product), Carta's 18 are spread across sales (5), risk, compliance and legal (3), finance (2), engineering (1), operations (1) and other titles (6), Adyen's 9 are 6 sales, 1 engineering and 2 other, and Plaid's 8 are 4 sales, 2 operations, 1 engineering and 1 people. Work style is recorded for only some roles. All 16 of Ripple's London roles carry an onsite tag and all 7 of Toast's a hybrid tag. All 9 of Adyen's London roles carry a remote tag even though the company calls itself office-first, so check the posting itself. Block's are 11 remote and 1 hybrid, and none of Carta's carry a work-style tag.
\nWhat do London fintech roles look like in this panel?
Using title keywords (disclosed in the methodology), 85 of the 359 London roles (23.7%) are sales and go-to-market, 78 (21.7%) engineering, 33 product and design, 28 risk, compliance and legal, 25 data and machine learning, 22 finance, 13 operations and support, 10 marketing, 7 people, and 58 other. Of the 354 roles with a recorded seniority, 261 (73.7%) are Senior, Staff, Lead, Principal, Director or Executive, 65 are Mid-Level and 28 are Junior or Internship. Work style is recorded for 229 of 359 roles: 103 remote, 91 hybrid and 35 onsite. Many remote tags belong to multi-city postings and to employers such as Adyen, so this says little about London office days specifically.
Among the 59 London roles with a GBP range, the median advertised minimum is £90,000 and the median advertised maximum is £115,000 (n=59, 7 employers). Forty-six of those 59 are Monzo's, so this reflects one employer's disclosure habits and should be read as indicative. One further London role advertises a range in another currency and is excluded. For a fuller London picture, see our London fintech jobs overview, the London guide and the employer-by-employer London hiring breakdown.
\nWhat should a reader take from the gaps?
Recognition and hiring barely overlap. The lists favour large, established brands such as Mastercard or Admiral, and the largest London fintech hirers in the panel (Stripe, Monzo, Zopa, Ripple and Thought Machine) are absent from every list we could read. That reflects list scope and entry rules, for example certification requirements, not necessarily employee experience. A sensible approach is to use lists to build a shortlist, check the employer's own page for working model, then look at live roles and whether pay is disclosed.
\nCurrent opportunities
- All London fintech roles on Finjobsly
- London roles by function: software engineering, sales and business development and risk, compliance and legal
Employer pages: Monzo, Adyen, Stripe, Carta, Plaid, Capitolis, Kraken and the Mastercard Europe Services Limited record. Block's careers page returned no usable content, Mastercard's careers page named no locations, and LinkedIn's full ranked list page was blocked and one Alloy page returned an error.
Finjobsly data: active roles on 20 October 2026 (4,182 roles, 36 employers). A role is London-based if the word London appears in location, city or raw location. Roles with no usable city are excluded. Multi-city roles are counted once and flagged, using the rule that other place names remain once London, UK and remote or hybrid labels are removed. Role families are assigned from job titles using one rule applied across Finjobsly articles, in this order: data and machine learning (data scientist, machine learning, data or analytics engineer, data and business analyst, BI, analytics, and fraud, risk or credit modelling titles), sales and go-to-market (sales, account executive, business development, SDR or BDR, partnerships, customer success, account management, solutions engineering), engineering (engineer, developer, software, SRE, DevOps, architect), product and design, risk, compliance and legal, marketing, finance, people, and operations and support. Titles that match none are counted as other. Title matching is imperfect, so a few roles may sit in a neighbouring family. Pay is advertised minimum and maximum in GBP, with n stated and n below 20 indicative. Company review scores, benefits fields and sentiment fields were not used. These matching rules were re-run for this update, and the panel has grown since the 1 October edition, so figures should not be compared with that edition.
Limits: the panel is 36 employers and over-represents Stripe. Lists measure different things and none covers all fintech. Search tools do not read every page fully, so absence from a list here means absence from what we could read. No trend is claimed.
