Twenty-one of the 36 fintech employers Finjobsly tracks have live roles in London. As of 20 October 2026, Finjobsly tracked 358 active roles that list London as a location, 8.6% of its 4,185 active roles. Checkout.com (75 roles), Monzo (53), Stripe (53), Zopa (34), Carta (18), Thought Machine (17) and Ripple (16) account for 266 of them. The employers differ sharply in what they hire for: Stripe's London roles lean towards sales, while engineering hiring is concentrated at Checkout.com, Zopa, Thought Machine and Monzo. This article is an employer-by-employer view of those 358 roles, with seniority, work style where recorded, and GBP pay where advertised. For the live inventory, use the London fintech jobs page.
\nKey findings
- Finjobsly tracked 358 active roles listing London at 21 of 36 employers as of 20 October 2026. This is a floor: another 85 roles are tagged United Kingdom without naming London and are not counted.
- Seven employers hold 266 of the 358 roles (74.3%). Checkout.com has 75, Monzo 53, Stripe 53 and Zopa 34. The other 17 employers have between one and 18 London roles each.
- London is a different share of each employer's panel roles: 34 of Zopa's 39 (87%), 53 of Monzo's 68 (78%), 17 of Thought Machine's 40 (43%) and 75 of Checkout.com's 172 (44%), but 53 of Stripe's 775 (7%).
- Sales and engineering are almost level: 84 sales titles against 78 engineering titles. Stripe has 27 of the sales roles and only 6 engineering roles, while Checkout.com (20), Zopa (12) and Thought Machine (12) lead engineering.
- Of 353 London roles with a seniority level recorded, 261 (73.9%) are Senior or above and 28 (7.9%) are junior or internship.
- GBP pay is advertised on 59 of the 358 London roles (16.5%), and 46 of them are at Monzo. The median advertised range is £90,000 to £115,000 (n=59), which is largely a Monzo figure.
Which fintech companies have the most roles in London?
The table lists each employer with at least eight London roles, then groups the rest. "Multi-location" means the posting lists London alongside another city or a remote option, such as "Cardiff, London or Remote (UK)" or "Dublin, London". Such roles are counted once in London. "Share of employer" is London roles divided by that employer's total active roles in Finjobsly's panel.
\n| Employer | London roles | Of which multi-location | Employer's total roles | Share of employer | Largest role families in London |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Checkout.com | 75 | 0 | 172 | 43.6% | Engineering 20, other 14, product 10, sales 10 |
| Monzo | 53 | 38 | 68 | 77.9% | Data 12, engineering 9, product 9, finance 5 |
| Stripe | 53 | 16 | 775 | 6.8% | Sales 27, engineering 6, other 6, product 4 |
| Zopa | 34 | 0 | 39 | 87.2% | Engineering 12, other 5, product 5, risk 4 |
| Carta | 18 | 0 | 74 | 24.3% | Other 6, sales 5, risk 3, finance 2 |
| Thought Machine | 17 | 0 | 40 | 42.5% | Engineering 12, other 3 |
| Ripple | 16 | 0 | 101 | 15.8% | Other 5, engineering 4, sales 3, risk 2 |
| Block | 12 | 0 | 218 | 5.5% | Sales 8, other 3 |
| Ramp | 12 | 0 | 169 | 7.1% | Other 4, sales 4 |
| Adyen | 9 | 3 | 243 | 3.7% | Sales 6, other 2 |
| OakNorth | 9 | 0 | 22 | 40.9% | Risk 4, finance 2 |
| Plaid | 8 | 0 | 132 | 6.1% | Sales 4, operations 2 |
| Wise | 8 | 0 | 17 | 47.1% | Engineering 5, finance 3 |
| Eight other employers (FloQast, Robinhood, Toast, Fireblocks, GoCardless, Mollie, Ledger, Coinbase) | 34 | 2 | n/a | n/a | 1 to 6 roles each |
Two readings matter. London is the centre of gravity for Zopa, Wise, Monzo and Thought Machine, so a candidate looking at those employers is looking mostly at London roles. For Stripe, Block, Ramp and Adyen, London is a small part of a much larger global footprint and the roles are mainly commercial. Monzo's 53 is the figure most affected by the counting rule: 38 of its roles use a "Cardiff, London or Remote (UK)" style location, so only 15 name London alone. Counting only roles that name London alone, Checkout.com has 75, Stripe 37, Zopa 34, Ripple 16 and Monzo 15. Earlier Finjobsly articles on London fintech hiring used a different date and location rule, and the panel has changed since 1 October, so their counts are not directly comparable to these.
\nWhat types of fintech roles are open in London?
Using job-title keyword rules (listed in the methodology), the 358 roles break down as follows. Percentages use 358 as the denominator, and the families are not comparable to panel-wide shares unless the filter is stated.
\n| Role family | London roles | Share of 358 | Where the roles sit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sales and go-to-market | 84 | 23.5% | Stripe 27, Checkout.com 10, Block 8, Adyen 6, Carta 5 |
| Engineering | 78 | 21.8% | Checkout.com 20, Thought Machine 12, Zopa 12, Monzo 9, Stripe 6 |
| Product and design | 33 | 9.2% | Checkout.com 10, Monzo 9, Zopa 5, Stripe 4 |
| Risk, compliance and legal | 28 | 7.8% | Monzo 5, Checkout.com 5, OakNorth 4, Zopa 4, Stripe 3 |
| Data, analytics and ML | 25 | 7.0% | Monzo 12, Checkout.com 7, Zopa 3, GoCardless 2 |
| Operations and support | 13 | 3.6% | Stripe 3, Monzo 2, Checkout.com 2, Plaid 2 |
| Marketing, finance, people and other (unclassified titles) | 97 | 27.1% | Spread across employers |
Sales leads engineering by six roles (84 and 78), and a candidate's route in depends on the employer. Engineers should look at Checkout.com, Zopa, Thought Machine and Monzo first; go-to-market candidates should look at Stripe, Checkout.com and Block. Monzo accounts for 12 of the 25 data roles, so London data hiring is largely one employer's hiring. For titles and what they mean, see the guide to fintech job titles.
\nHow senior are London fintech roles?
Seniority is recorded on 353 of the 358 roles. Of those, 261 (73.9%) are Senior, Staff, Lead, Principal, Director or above, 64 (18.1%) are Mid-Level and 28 (7.9%) are Junior or internship. By employer, the pattern is the same at the larger employers: Stripe has 42 of 53 recorded roles at Senior or above, Monzo 46 of 53, Zopa 26 of 34, Ripple 13 of 16 and Thought Machine 12 of 17. Checkout.com is the exception among the big employers, with 43 of 70 recorded roles (61%) at Senior or above, and it also lists 10 of the 28 junior and internship roles. Entry-level candidates should treat London fintech as a senior market in this data: the other early-career roles are spread across Stripe (4), Carta (3), FloQast (3), Zopa (2) and Monzo (2), with single roles at four more employers.
\nAre London fintech jobs remote, hybrid or onsite?
Work style is recorded on 228 of the 358 London roles (63.7%), so these figures describe about two thirds of the roles. Of those 228, 103 are remote (45.2%), 90 hybrid (39.5%) and 35 onsite (15.4%). The split is driven by individual employers:
- Monzo: 45 remote and 7 hybrid of 52 recorded. Many of these postings read "or Remote (UK)", so remote here means remote within the UK is an option.
- Checkout.com: 68 hybrid and 7 remote of 75.
- Block: 11 remote and 1 hybrid of 12.
- Ripple: all 16 London roles are recorded as onsite, and Ramp has 10 onsite and 2 remote, which together account for 26 of the 35 onsite roles.
- Stripe: only 3 of 53 have a work style recorded, and Carta, Wise, GoCardless and Fireblocks have none recorded.
Because recorded work style is uneven, do not read the 45% remote share as a London norm. For remote roles across the whole panel see the remote fintech jobs page.
\nWhat do London fintech roles advertise in pay?
Only 59 of the 358 London roles (16.5%) advertise a GBP salary range, and all 59 have a usable range, leaving a median advertised minimum of £90,000 and a median advertised maximum of £115,000. Of the 59, 46 are at Monzo (median £90,000 to £117,500, n=46), 5 at GoCardless (£99,200 to £148,800), 3 at Ramp, 2 at Plaid and one each at Coinbase, Stripe and Wise; those employers' roles are too few to report separately. Treat the headline figure as a Monzo figure rather than a London market benchmark, since 78% of the ranges come from one employer. Pay by role family is not reported because the samples per family are too small. For wider UK context see the guides on UK fintech engineering salaries and London against Manchester and Edinburgh, and use the Salary Benchmark to check a specific offer.
\nHow should a candidate use this employer view?
- Engineers: start with Checkout.com (20 engineering roles), Zopa (12), Thought Machine (12) and Monzo (9). Stripe's London list leans commercial, with 27 sales titles against 6 engineering.
- Sales and customer-facing candidates: Stripe, Checkout.com, Block and Adyen list most of London's commercial roles.
- Risk and compliance candidates: Monzo (5), Checkout.com (5), OakNorth (4) and Zopa (4) list the most. For the regulatory background see the regtech and compliance hiring guide.
- Anyone relocating: check whether a posting is London-only or multi-location, since 59 of the 358 are not.

\nMethodology
All figures come from Finjobsly's live job database (active roles only) as of 20 October 2026, covering 4,185 active roles at 36 tracked employers. This is Finjobsly's panel and not the whole fintech market. A role counts as London if the word London appears (as a whole word, case-insensitive) in its location, city or raw location fields, excluding "New London", which matched a Connecticut listing. This captures variants such as "London, UK", "London Office", "United Kingdom, London" and multi-city listings such as "Dublin or London". It does not capture roles tagged only "United Kingdom" or "Remote UK" without a city: 85 active roles mention the UK without naming London, so the London count is a floor. Multi-location roles are counted once in London and flagged (59 of 358); they are not counted for any other city here. Location fields are inconsistently recorded across employers, with placeholders and country-only values, so no figure should be read as a complete count of London hiring. Role families are assigned from job titles using one rule applied across Finjobsly articles, in this order: data and machine learning (data scientist, machine learning, data or analytics engineer, data and business analyst, BI, analytics, and fraud, risk or credit modelling titles), sales and go-to-market (sales, account executive, business development, SDR or BDR, partnerships, customer success, account management, solutions engineering), support, engineering (engineer, developer, software, SRE, DevOps, architect), product and design, risk, compliance and legal, marketing, finance, people, and operations. Titles that match none are counted as other. Title matching is imperfect, so a few roles may sit in a neighbouring family. The rule was re-run for this update, so family figures should not be compared with the 1 October edition. Seniority is recorded on 353 of 358 London roles and work style on 228. Pay uses roles advertised in GBP with a minimum of at least £10,000 and a maximum not below the minimum; medians are of advertised minimums and maximums, not salaries paid. No trend claims are made because the panel was assembled in July 2026 and has grown since the last edition.
