The best fintech companies to work for in 2026 depend on what you need from a job, and no single dataset settles it. This guide compares three kinds of evidence: independent employee-survey recognition, live hiring activity, and how openly employers post pay and work style. As of 20 October 2026, Finjobsly tracked 4,185 live roles across 36 fintech employers. Coinbase, Affirm, Chime, Brex, Plaid and Monzo stand out for pay transparency, Toast, Stripe and Coinbase for early-career openings, and Plaid is the one tracked employer on American Banker's 2026 Best Fintechs to Work For list. These are signals worth weighing, not a ranking.
Key findings
- American Banker's 2026 Best Fintechs to Work For list names 33 companies. Plaid, at number 14, is the only one of Finjobsly's 36 tracked employers on it.
- Stripe has 775 of the 4,185 live roles Finjobsly tracked as of 20 October 2026 (18.5%). Stripe, Toast, Brex, Adyen and Coinbase together hold 43.9%.
- Pay transparency varies sharply. Chime posted a salary range on 61 of its 69 roles (88%) and Affirm on 193 of 217 (89%), while Stripe did so on 23 of 775 (3%).
- Remote-friendly postings cluster at Block (214 of 218 roles), Plaid (123 of 123), Affirm (213 of 217), Kraken (85 of 85) and Coinbase (195 of 225).
- Early-career openings, meaning roles tagged Junior or Internship, are most numerous at Toast (56), Stripe (53), Coinbase (34) and Checkout.com (25).
- Finjobsly does not hold verified benefits or employee-satisfaction data for these employers, so this article does not rate them on either.
How do you decide which fintech companies are best to work for?
No single measure captures a good workplace, so this guide separates three types of signal and labels each one:
- Employee signals: recognition from published employee-survey lists, with the publisher named.
- Employer-provided signals: what a company states about its own benefits and working model.
- Finjobsly analysis: what live job postings reveal, such as hiring volume, pay disclosure, work style and seniority mix.
Hiring volume is not the same as a good place to work, and a company that posts pay openly is not automatically a better employer. The signals below tell you where to look closer.
Which fintech companies appear on independent best-workplace lists?
American Banker published its 2026 Best Fintechs to Work For list on 18 May 2026. It names 33 companies, led by IntraFi, Centime, YCharts, MVB Bank and White Clay, with Zest AI, Plaid, Alloy, Capitolis and Jack Henry also on it. American Banker says the companies on the list have made an effort to provide generous benefits and work-from-home flexibility, and its published list does not detail the survey method. You can read the full list at American Banker.
IntraFi ranked first. Per American Banker's profile, it offers sabbaticals after work anniversaries, adoption assistance, equity for all employees after one year, and a hybrid model where teams choose their own in-office days (American Banker). These are employer-reported benefits as described by that publication, not Finjobsly findings.
Fast Company's 2026 Best Workplaces for Innovators named six financial services and fintech companies: Comply, Flex, Highnote, Itaú Unibanco, Happen Bank and MetLife (Fast Company). The two lists barely overlap, which is a reminder that each measures something different.
Which fintech companies are hiring the most right now?
As of 20 October 2026, Finjobsly's panel of 36 tracked employers had 4,185 live roles. The table shows the 15 employers with the most roles, with pay disclosure, remote-tagged share and early-career openings. Work style is not recorded on every role, so the remote column shows the number of roles tagged remote out of those with a work style recorded.
| Employer | Live roles | Roles with a posted salary | Remote roles (of those tagged) | Junior and intern roles |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Stripe | 775 | 23 (3%) | 136 of 213 | 53 |
| Toast | 335 | 47 (14%) | 53 of 335 | 56 |
| Brex | 261 | 201 (77%) | 5 of 244 | 15 |
| Adyen | 243 | 84 (35%) | 164 of 232 | 6 |
| Coinbase | 225 | 195 (87%) | 195 of 225 | 34 |
| Block | 218 | 89 (41%) | 214 of 218 | 19 |
| Affirm | 217 | 193 (89%) | 213 of 217 | 10 |
| Checkout.com | 172 | 16 (9%) | 32 of 172 | 25 |
| Ramp | 169 | 55 (33%) | 154 of 169 | 16 |
| Robinhood | 153 | 38 (25%) | 10 of 41 | 13 |
| Plaid | 132 | 94 (71%) | 123 of 123 | 4 |
| Tide | 105 | 20 (19%) | 65 of 75 | 12 |
| Ripple | 101 | 63 (62%) | 2 of 101 | 0 |
| Nubank | 99 | 7 (7%) | 84 of 98 | 2 |
| Gusto | 97 | 58 (60%) | 0 of 97 | 2 |
Stripe alone is 18.5% of the panel (775 of 4,185), so any panel-wide statistic is partly a statement about Stripe. The panel is not the whole fintech market, and an employer being absent from it says nothing about its quality. Which fintech companies are most open about pay?
Pay transparency is one of the few workplace signals visible in every job post. Among the tracked employers with at least 50 live roles, Affirm (89%), Chime (88%), Coinbase (87%), Monzo (81%), Brex (77%) and Plaid (71%) posted a salary range on most of their roles as of 20 October 2026. Betterment (24 of 24 roles) and GoCardless (26 of 33) are also high among smaller employers. At the other end, Stripe (3%) posted pay on few roles, and SoFi, Mollie, N26, Zopa and Wealthfront posted none. A low figure may reflect where a company hires, since pay disclosure is a legal requirement in some US states and countries but not others, so it is not proof of a company's intent. Compare any posted range with the Finjobsly Salary Benchmark.
Which fintech companies offer remote or flexible roles?
Among roles with a work style recorded, the most remote-friendly postings come from Block (214 of 218), Plaid (123 of 123), Affirm (213 of 217), Kraken (85 of 85), Chime (58 of 69) and Coinbase (195 of 225). Brex, Ripple and Gusto had almost no remote-tagged roles. Remote in a posting may still be limited to a country or time zone, so check each role. The remote fintech jobs page lists current openings. Employee surveys back up the trend: American Banker notes that the 33 companies on its 2026 list offer remote or hybrid options as a common feature.
Which fintech companies hire early-career talent?
Most fintech roles are senior. Early-career candidates should focus on the employers that actually post junior and internship roles. As of 20 October 2026, Toast had 56 roles tagged Junior or Internship, Stripe 53, Coinbase 34 and Checkout.com 25. Together they hold 168 early-career roles, while Chime, Ripple and Kraken had none and Gusto had two. Use the AI Career Coach to plan a route in.
Which fintech companies are worth considering?
There is not enough comparable evidence on retention, promotion, pay equity or employee sentiment to rank employers, so this is a shortlist by signal, not a league table.
- Independent employee-survey recognition: Plaid (number 14 on American Banker's 2026 list), and also the 32 companies on that list that Finjobsly does not currently track.
- Pay transparency at scale: Chime, Affirm, Brex, Coinbase, Monzo and Plaid.
- Remote-first postings: Block, Plaid, Affirm, Kraken and Coinbase.
- Early-career openings: Toast, Stripe, Coinbase and Checkout.com.
- Largest current hiring volume: Stripe, Toast and Brex.
Coinbase and Plaid appear in more than one list. Neither status means better management or culture, so read the individual job posts, company pages and independent reviews before you apply.

Methodology
Finjobsly figures come from the platform's live job database as of 20 October 2026, covering 4,185 active roles across 36 tracked employers. This panel does not represent the whole fintech sector. Pay disclosure counts roles that show a minimum salary. Remote counts use roles tagged with a work style, and the denominator is shown in the table. Junior and intern counts use roles tagged with those seniority levels. Finjobsly holds no verified benefits or employee-satisfaction data for these employers, so no benefit or satisfaction claims are made, except where attributed to a named publication. Employee-survey and award information is from American Banker (published 18 May 2026) and Fast Company, and is reported as published without independent verification.
