Senior Software Engineer, Data Enablement

BlockBay Area, CA, United States of America
Full-timeNot specifiedJul 22, 2026

Block is one company built from many blocks, all united by the same purpose of economic empowerment. The blocks that form our foundational teams — People, Finance, Counsel, Hardware, Information Security, Platform Infrastructure Engineering, and more — provide support and guidance at the corporate level. They work across business groups and around the globe, spanning time zones and disciplines to develop inclusive People policies, forecast finances, give legal counsel, safeguard systems, nurture new initiatives, and more. Every challenge creates possibilities, and we need different perspectives to see them all. Bring yours to Block.

The Role

The Data Enablement team builds the platforms and frameworks that move and serve data across Block. We support four core capabilities — online and offline data projections, a third-party data proxy, and graph data stores — for customers across the company, including Risk, Compliance, Data Engineering, and Data Science. As a Staff Software Engineer on the team, you will become the subject-matter expert and a significant contributor to our online data projections and event-streaming capabilities — designing the platform, frameworks, and standards that turn Block's event streams into low-latency, production-grade data products. Your work sets the technical direction for how teams across the company build on streaming data.

You Will

  • Become the subject-matter expert for Block's online data projections and event-streaming capabilities — designing the platform, frameworks, and standards others build on
  • Lead the technical direction for real-time, event-driven data systems used by business units across Block
  • Build and operate streaming pipelines and projection frameworks on high-volume event data
  • Partner with engineering teams across Block to turn Kafka event streams into reliable, low-latency data products
  • Improve the reliability, observability, and data quality of streaming systems running in production
  • Mentor engineers on the team and shape platform architecture and standards
  • Contribute to and grow familiar with the team's other domains over time — supporting our third-party data proxy backend applications, graph data store capabilities, and offline batch data projections

You Have

  • 8+ years of professional software engineering experience (or Block equivalent, as referenced in go/levels)
  • Deep experience designing and operating distributed, high-throughput backend systems in production
  • Hands-on experience with event-driven architecture and streaming platforms such as Kafka
  • Experience building streaming or real-time data systems; hands-on experience with Spark Structured Streaming or Flink is strongly preferred
  • Proficiency in a JVM language such as Kotlin, or a comparable backend or systems programming background
  • Experience building on cloud infrastructure, ideally AWS
  • A track record of leading technical projects and mentoring other engineers
  • Bonus points for a data engineering background (building data pipelines, lakehouse or warehouse modeling, or large-scale batch and streaming systems)

Technologies We Use and Teach

  • Kafka, Spark, Spark Structured Streaming, Iceberg, Databricks, Snowflake, dbt, Prefect, block-forge, DataHub, Kotlin, AWS, CloudEvents

Territory Account Executive, Edmonton

BlockEdmonton, Alberta, Canada
Full-timeNot specifiedJul 22, 2026

Since we opened our doors in 2009, the world of commerce has evolved immensely, and so has Square. After enabling anyone to take payments and never miss a sale, we saw sellers stymied by disparate, outmoded products and tools that wouldn’t work together.

So we expanded into software and started building integrated, omnichannel solutions – to help sellers sell online, manage inventory, offer buy now, pay later functionality, book appointments, engage loyal buyers, and hire and pay staff. Across it all, we’ve embedded financial services tools at the point of sale, so merchants can access a business loan and manage their cash flow in one place. Afterpay furthers our goal to provide omnichannel tools that unlock meaningful value and growth, enabling sellers to capture the next generation shopper, increase order sizes, and compete at a larger scale.

Today, we are a partner to sellers of all sizes – large, enterprise-scale businesses with complex operations, sellers just starting, as well as merchants who began selling with Square and have grown larger over time. As our sellers grow, so do our solutions. There is a massive opportunity in front of us. We’re building a significant, meaningful, and lasting business, and we are helping sellers worldwide do the same.

The Role

Square is building a best-in-class, high-impact field sales organization, and we are looking for an exceptional Territory Account Executive — someone who consistently exceeds expectations, takes full ownership of their territory, and brings Square’s mission of economic empowerment directly to the businesses that need it most.

This is a field-driven, execution-focused role designed for individuals who thrive in dynamic, demanding environments. You will spend most of your week out in the market — meeting businesses, conducting live demos, and closing deals with confidence. The pace is fast, the expectations are high, and your ability to operate strategically and decisively will determine your success.

You will serve as Square’s presence and competitive advantage in one of our highest-opportunity markets — responsible for building pipeline from the ground up, elevating Square’s visibility in your community, establishing high-value partnerships, and helping local businesses grow through our ecosystem of industry-leading software and hardware.

If you are motivated by impactful work, driven to outperform, and eager to join a high-performance team with high standards, this role is built for you.

You will:

Lead your market with disciplined, in-person execution

  • Spend ~80% of your week in the field — walking your territory, engaging local businesses, and driving 50–60 targeted business visits each week.
  • Run a full-cycle, self-sourced sales motion: generate leads, identify needs, deliver compelling demos, and close deals across Square’s full product suite.

Establish yourself as the go-to Square expert in your city

  • Build strong, trust-based relationships with local sellers by being present, reliable, and value-driven.
  • Partner cross-functionally to ensure a seamless onboarding experience and fast time-to-value for new sellers.
  • Implement a disciplined referral strategy to turn every new customer into future opportunities.

Build a high-velocity pipeline from the ground up

  • Develop a repeatable top-of-funnel engine through door-to-door outreach, community engagement, events, networking, and targeted partnerships.
  • Work with channel partners to generate a consistent, high-quality referral stream that grows over time.

Master your verticals and sell with precision

  • Build deep expertise in key verticals — including restaurants, retail, and services — to diagnose challenges and position the right Square solutions.
  • Sell consultatively and competitively, staying proactive and strategic throughout the sales cycle.

Achieve exceptional results in a high-accountability environment

  • Maintain strong operational rigor in Salesforce: track activity, manage pipeline, and forecast accurately.
  • Measure performance frequently and improve continuously.
  • Consistently exceed quota within a culture where high standards are the norm.

You have:

  • 3+ years of sales experience in a full cycle closing role with field sales experience
  • Experience exceeding sales targets, selling a diverse ecosystem of products, and closing complex deals
  • Ability to drive deals independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Business development experience (e.g. hunting and cold calling)
  • Since this is a field position, you must have reliable transportation and live in the market you are serving
  • A collaborative and team player mentality
  • Prior Salesforce experience or equivalent
  • Even better:
    • 2+ years of payment processing OR related technology (i.e. payroll, loyalty, time management)
    • 1+ years of relevant audience experience (experience working in/selling to restaurants, retailers or services based businesses)
  • Pay Transparency

Forward Deployed AI Accelerator, Marketing

StripeRemote in the US, Remote in Canada
Full-timeNot specifiedJul 22, 2026

Who we are

About Stripe

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies — from the world's largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups — use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone's reach while doing the most important work of your career.

About the team

The Stripe Marketing organization is undergoing a fundamental transformation in how it works. We're building a team of Forward Deployed AI Accelerators (FDAs) embedded directly with marketing cohorts to make AI the default mode for all work — not an occasional tool, but the foundation of how every marketer at Stripe executes.

Today, marketers are already achieving remarkable results — building their own data dashboards, creating agents that compress multi-day processes, and authoring tools that accelerate workflows. The FDA team exists to take what's working and systematically scale it across the entire marketing organization.

What you'll do

As a Forward Deployed AI Accelerator, you'll be embedded with a group of approximately 20 marketers organized by functional team, shared workflow, or location. You'll build alongside them, and you'll help them fundamentally change how they operate. Your measure of success is the number of workflows you've permanently transformed and the extent to which those in your group start any task with an AI tool.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and document the highest-leverage workflow transformations within your group's day-to-day work by deeply understanding their processes and outputs • Build custom tools, agents, automations, and skills tailored to each marketer's specific responsibilities
  • Coach and partner with each marketer through a progressive journey — from awareness, to first win, to regular AI integration, to full workflow transformation, to self-sufficiency • Teach marketers to build and iterate on their own tools over time, creating independence
  • Recognize patterns across your cohort and systematically scale what works — a tool built for one marketer will be reusable for their peers
  • Document every tool, playbook, and transformation pattern you build so the entire FDA team uses each other's work
  • Share wins visibly within your cohort and with leadership to build momentum, inspire, and celebrate success
  • Track individual and cohort progress rigorously against a defined maturity model, moving every marketer toward self-sustaining, AI-first work
  • Prepare marketers for an agentic future — not just prompt writing, but designing, building, and overseeing autonomous, multi-agent workflows

Who you are

We're looking for people who have already lived the transformation they'll be driving for others. You've used AI to fundamentally change how you work — not as a novelty, but as your default operating mode.

  • You are a deep AI practitioner. You build agents, automations, and tools fluently. You don't just know what AI can do in theory — you've built things that changed how real work gets done. You build in real time alongside the people you support.
  • You are an outstanding coach and communicator. You meet people wherever they are. You create desire for progress, and you adapt your approach to each person.
  • You understand marketing work. You either have direct experience in marketing or quickly learn the workflows, deliverables, tools, and pressures of your assigned group. You know that understanding someone's work is a prerequisite to transforming it.
  • You are a pattern recognizer. When you build something that works for one person, you immediately see how it applies to others. You think in systems, not one-off solutions.
  • You are high-caliber, persistent, and versatile. Your skills and experience are valuable across the company. You're the kind of person who succeeds in many roles at Stripe.
  • You bias toward action and speed. You'd rather show someone a working proof-of-concept on their own deliverable today than present a polished deck about what's theoretically possible next quarter.
  • You are comfortable with ambiguity and evolution. This is a new team building a new operating model. The playbook will be rewritten as we learn. You thrive in that environment.

Minimum requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience in a role requiring diagnostic thinking, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration
  • Demonstrated, hands-on experience building AI-powered tools, agents, automations, or workflows that transformed real work processes (not just using AI as a chatbot — building with it)
  • Track record of coaching, teaching, or enabling others — formally or informally — with evidence that people you've helped actually changed how they work
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences and adapt your style to different learners
  • Comfort working across multiple workstreams and relationships simultaneously (you'll be supporting approximately 20 marketers at varying stages of their AI journey)

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in marketing, marketing operations, growth, or a closely adjacent function
  • Proficiency with AI development tools and platforms (e.g., Claude, Claude Code, Codex, custom agent frameworks, API integrations, workflow automation tools)
  • Experience with change management, organizational transformation, or large-scale enablement programs
  • Familiarity with marketing technology stacks (e.g., Marketo, Salesforce, analytics platforms, content management tools)
  • Experience building and scaling internal tools, templates, or playbooks that were adopted beyond your immediate team
  • Background in consulting, solutions engineering, technical account management, or other client-facing technical roles

About the Role:

The Conversion Specialist manages the onboarding experience for 401(k) plans transferring an existing plan to the Gusto 401k platform. This role oversees the full conversion lifecycle, from initial handoff through asset transfer, data reconciliation, and first contribution, ensuring accurate record keeping and a smooth transition for plan sponsors and administrators. The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of retirement plan mechanics, meticulous attention to detail, and the confidence to guide employers through a complex, multi-step process. They work exclusively with plan sponsors and administrators and partner closely with Legal, Sales, and Operations to keep conversions on track and compliant.

About the Team:

The Conversion Onboarding team handles one of the most operationally complex moments in a client's journey: moving an existing retirement plan to a new provider. We combine operational rigor with a client-first approach, ensuring sponsors and administrators feel supported and informed at every step — and that assets are transferred accurately and on time.

Here's what you'll do day-to-day

  • Manage a dedicated book of business of 401(k) plan conversions from signing through completed asset transfer and first contribution
  • Work with plan sponsors and administrators to gather required documentation and ensure accurate data is submitted to support a smooth asset transfer and recordkeeping transition
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for plan sponsors and administrators via email, phone, and video, including inbound scheduling through Calendly
  • Guide employers through pre-ready task dashboards, proactively preventing stalls and keeping plans on track for their plan start date
  • Monitor and drive performance against key benchmarks including time to activation, time to ready, CSAT, and average response time
  • Partner closely with Operations and cross-functional teams including Sales and Legal to support asset transfers, client expectations, and complex plan changes
  • Use AI tools to streamline workflows, improve client communications, and increase efficiency across your book of business

Here's what we're looking for

  • 4+ years of total work experience with 3+ years in client-facing implementation, technical account management, or retirement plan administration; startup and/or financial services experience a plus
  • Proven ability to manage a large, active book of business involving complex, multi-step processes simultaneously
  • Deep knowledge in one or more of the following: SaaS, Operations, or Finance; retirement plan experience strongly preferred
  • Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail, particularly around data accuracy and reconciliation
  • Proficiency with Salesforce and comfort working across case management and collaboration tools in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills across email, phone, and video with a client-first mindset
  • RPS or CRPS designation a plus, or active pursuit of either; familiarity with ERISA requirements, payroll systems, bundled vs. unbundled providers, or Safe Harbor compliance is a plus

Employees who are based in those locations will be expected to work from the office on designated days approximately 2-3 days per week (or more depending on role). The same office expectations apply to all Symmetry roles, Gusto's subsidiary, whose physical office is in Scottsdale.

Note: The San Francisco office expectations encompass both the San Francisco and San Jose metro areas.

When approved to work from a location other than a Gusto office, a secure, reliable, and consistent internet connection is required. This includes non-office days for hybrid employees.

Fintech sits at the intersection of regulated finance and consumer-grade software, and FinJobsly tracks the people building it. Every role on this page comes from a primary employer ATS or trusted partner — Stripe, Revolut, Wise, Monzo, Starling, Klarna, GoCardless, Adyen, Tide, Brex, Plaid, Affirm, Carta and several hundred others — so you only see live, currently-hiring positions instead of stale aggregator copies.

We split fintech hiring into the buckets that actually map to job ladders: payments and money movement, neobanking, lending and credit, wealth and wealth-tech, RegTech and compliance, and the platform/infrastructure layer used by all of the above. Filters along the side let you narrow by remote-first vs hybrid, seniority, contract type, and base salary band, while the keyword search reads the full job description (not just the title) so a search for “PSD2” or “KYC” surfaces roles even when the title is something generic like “Senior Backend Engineer”.

If you are early in your career, the entry-level and graduate filter highlights structured programmes at Monzo, Revolut and Wise. Mid- and senior-level engineers will find a strong skew toward Go, TypeScript, Kotlin and Python, while product, design and risk functions are dominated by London, Berlin, New York, Singapore and remote-EMEA postings. Salary benchmarks shown on each card are sourced from posted ranges where the employer publishes them, never from third-party guesses, so the numbers you see are the numbers you can negotiate against.

FinJobsly is built specifically for fintech: jobs are auto-tagged with the exact stack and regulatory regime mentioned in the description, duplicate listings from the same ATS are collapsed, and roles older than 30 days drop off automatically. The result is a clean, opinionated board where every click goes to a real role you can apply to today.

Direct-to-employer applications

Apply links go straight to the employer's ATS — no recruiter middlemen, no expired postings.

Salary transparency where available

Where employers publish salary bands we surface them on the card; where they don't we mark it explicitly.

Built-in role filters

Slice live listings by remote, seniority, contract type, stack and regulatory experience.
