About the team + role
We are building an elite team, applying frontier technologies to the world’s biggest financial problems. We’re looking for bold thinkers. Sharp problem-solvers. Builders who are wired to make an impact. Robinhood isn’t a place for complacency, it’s where ambitious people do the best work of their careers. We’re a high-performing, fast-moving team with ethics at the center of everything we do. Expectations are high, and so are the rewards.
The Cloud Networking team’s mission is to build scalable, secure, and reliable networking infrastructure that powers communication across all Robinhood services. We enable our engineering teams to build and operate microservices seamlessly by providing foundational networking capabilities that are resilient and transparent.
We’re looking for a Staff Software Platform Engineer to design, build, and evolve our foundational platform for large-scale services—focusing on AWS, Kubernetes (K8s) on Amazon EKS, modern networking, and a robust Istio service mesh to deliver secure, reliable, and performant systems. This role is part of the Network Service Discovery and Communication (SDC) team, responsible for service discovery, traffic management, and resilient service-to-service communication across our platform.
This role is based in our Bellevue office(s), with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week.
At Robinhood, we believe in the power of in-person work to accelerate progress, spark innovation, and strengthen community. Our office experience is intentional, energizing, and designed to fully support high-performing teams.
What you’ll do
- Lead technical strategy and execution for platform networking, traffic management, and service-to-service communication across multi-tenant/multi-cluster EKS environments.
- Design and operate resilient service mesh topologies with Istio, including mTLS, traffic policies, ingress/egress, rate limiting, and observability, with Envoy-based extensions where appropriate.
- Define and implement platform standards for HTTP/REST and gRPC APIs, including versioning, contract governance, and performance/SLO baselines.
- Build automation, tooling, and paved roads in Python and Go (Golang) to improve developer productivity, operational safety, and release velocity.
- Create and maintain Terraform-based Infrastructure as Code (IaC) modules, pipelines, and guardrails for secure, auditable, and scalable infrastructure changes.
- Partner with security, networking, and application teams to drive end-to-end solutions for identity, encryption, zero-downtime migrations, and incident readiness.
- Provide technical leadership: drive roadmaps, set success metrics, de-risk complex projects, communicate tradeoffs, and mentor senior engineers.
What you bring
- Experience with AWS network communication fundamentals (VPCs, subnets, routing, security groups, NLB/ALB, PrivateLink, NAT, DNS).
- Strong understanding of Kubernetes (K8s) and AWS EKS operations at scale (cluster lifecycle, node pools, autoscaling, admission control, CRDs).
- Strong understanding of HTTP/REST and gRPC protocol fundamentals, including performance, reliability, and backward compatibility.
- Strong understanding of Istio service mesh; Envoy experience is a strong plus.
- Exceptional traffic communication troubleshooting skills across L3–L7, including packet capture/analysis, Envoy/Istio telemetry, and debugging DNS/TLS/MTLS and routing policies.
- Strong scripting/programming skills in Python and Golang.
- Experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) best practices.
- Strong leadership skills to lead projects end-to-end: planning, execution, stakeholder alignment, and presentation/communication.
What we offer
- Challenging, high-impact work to grow your career
- Performance driven compensation with multipliers for outsized impact, bonus programs, and equity ownership
- Top tier benefits to fuel your work, including supplemental health insurance, ancillary insurance, and mental health support programs
- Lifestyle wallet - a highly flexible employer-paid benefits spending account expenses beyond traditional benefits such as wellness, childcare, learning, and more.
- Time off to recharge including company holidays, paid time off, sick time, paid volunteer time off, parental leave, and more!

Senior Manager, Enterprise Data Governance
Toast creates technology to help restaurants and local businesses succeed in a digital world, helping business owners operate, increase sales, engage customers, and keep employees happy.
The Enterprise Data Solutions (EDS) team at Toast is on a mission to deliver a trusted, scalable, and governed data foundation that empowers every Toaster to make decisions with speed and confidence. As Toast continues to scale and AI becomes foundational to our product and operational strategy, EDS serves as the engine behind that ambition—building the data infrastructure, governance frameworks, and data products that every business function depends on.
As Senior Manager, Enterprise Data Governance, you will be the primary operational force driving Toast’s governance roadmap. Reporting to the Director of Enterprise Data Governance, you will design, deploy, and scale the programs, processes, and tooling that make Toast's data trustworthy, compliant, and discoverable.
This role requires a rare blend of program leadership and technical fluency: you are just as comfortable facilitating a cross-functional alignment workshop with executive stakeholders as you are configuring metadata standards in our data catalog or querying Snowflake to audit data quality.
A day in the life (Responsibilities)
- Drive Governance Program Operations: Own and scale the Data Domain Model, ensuring domain ownership is clear and newly established domains are seamlessly onboarded. Support the launch and operation of the Data Governance Council to turn strategy into action.
- Operationalize Data Policies & Compliance: Champion the development and execution of enterprise data policies (security, retention, access). Monitor cross-domain compliance, coordinate remediation with domain owners, and maintain evidence packages for SOC 2, GDPR/CCPA, and internal audits.
- Master Metadata & Business Glossary Operations: Own the day-to-day operations of Toast’s Business Glossary. Facilitate term definition workshops, resolve domain conflicts, and partner with technical teams to ensure metadata standards are integrated directly into data products.
- Enable Data Literacy & Adoption: Drive widespread adoption of our data catalog and governance tools across business and technical teams through office hours, training programs, and clear documentation.
- Measure & Advance Data Maturity: Lead regular data governance maturity assessments across business units, converting findings into actionable improvement roadmaps. Track and report key metrics via governance dashboards to highlight program ROI.
What you'll need to thrive (Requirements)
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in data governance, data management, or enterprise analytics within a high-growth, modern tech environment (B2B SaaS experience is a plus).
- Proven experience building or scaling enterprise data governance programs from design through company-wide adoption.
- Demonstrated experience partnering with cross-functional leadership across Product, Engineering, Legal, Security, and Analytics.
- Modern Data Stack Fluency: Comfortable navigating environments powered by Snowflake, dbt, and modern Cloud Data Warehouses.
- Data Governance & Metadata Tooling: Hands-on experience with modern data catalog/metadata platforms (e.g., DataHub, Alation, Atlan).
- SQL Proficiency: Able to write SQL queries to inspect data, run quality analysis, and build governance tracking reports.
- Framework Knowledge: Deep understanding of frameworks like DAMA-DMBOK, as well as data quality and observability concepts (e.g., Monte Carlo, Great Expectations).
- Master Facilitator: Exceptional ability to lead working sessions, drive consensus, and align disparate business and engineering teams around unified data standards.
- Clear Communicator: Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to translate complex technical/data concepts into executive summaries and operational docs.
- Bias for Action: A proactive self-starter who thrives in fast-moving, ambiguous environments and takes pride in operational excellence.
What will help you stand out (Nonessential Skills/Nice to Haves):
- CDMP (Certified Data Management Professional) or equivalent credential.
- Practical exposure to AI Governance, LLM data lineage, or responsible AI data usage frameworks.
- Experience navigating regulatory requirements (SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR/CCPA) in a high-scale environment.

Risk Strategist, Card Network Compliance
Who we are
About Stripe
Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies—from the world’s largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups—use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone’s reach while doing the most important work of your career.
About the team
As Stripe continues to develop innovative products that serve businesses of all sizes, risk will increase in complexity and scale. The Industry Expansion Strategy team protects Stripe's business and mission by building the policies, frameworks, and practices that enable Stripe to support businesses in complex, highly regulated industries. As Stripe expands into new markets and products, we unlock revenue, advance trust, and set the standard for what responsible growth looks like at scale.
What you’ll do
Stripe's financial infrastructure only works if merchants can trust it—and that trust depends on us staying ahead of card network requirements. The Industry Expansion Strategy team owns that problem globally. As part of the team, you'll be the person who ensures our merchant portfolio stays compliant with Visa, Mastercard, and other card network rules as Stripe scales globally.
This isn't a passive monitoring role. You'll work directly with Sales, merchants, card networks, and internal Risk and Compliance teams to catch issues early, fix them fast, and build processes that move Stripe ahead.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about navigating ambiguity, enabling business growth while balancing risk, and is skilled at identifying ways to improve user experience.
Responsibilities
- Own oversight of merchant risk management processes for Payment Facilitators, Marketplaces, and other Third-Party Agents and Servicers, including preparing merchants for card network registration, managing network reporting requirements, and conducting periodic reviews and user remediations
- Partner with internal teams to design compliance strategies that support Stripe's global expansion without creating major downstream risks
- Embed within first-line teams, particularly Sales and Product, to train sellers to develop the judgment to catch gaps and position Risk as a business enabler
- Build new processes and enhance existing processes to optimize for efficiency and automation, manage incoming non-compliance escalations from partners, and monitor our portfolio against rules and requirements
- Perform research and analysis to assess Stripe's current market position and develop and prioritize long-term strategic plans for future growth
- Challenge the status quo and provide multiple alternative solutions and key execution criteria
- Execute special projects and ad hoc analyses as initiatives, products, risks, and opportunities are constantly evolving
Who you are
We’re looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.
Minimum requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience in a related role in Payments or FinTech industries, including experience with card network compliance
- Familiarity with banking and money movement regulations, including KYC and KYB, AML OFAC compliance, and credit and fraud risk
- Experience overseeing design execution and delivery of highly strategic programs
- Proven ability to take complex issues and turn them into actionable next steps, hold others accountable, and meet deadlines
- Data-driven problem-solving skills, including the ability to distill complex, ambiguous regulatory issues into clear, concise, and reliable guidance for stakeholders and Stripe users
- Demonstrated track record of deriving insights from complex or technical problem spaces and evangelizing actionable product recommendations
- Strong stakeholder management skills and operating rigor, including the ability to take ownership, be accountable, and lead without formal authority to navigate ambiguity and solve problems with the end user in mind
- Entrepreneurial and curious mindset, including motivation to develop deep subject matter expertise and understanding of risk-based frameworks
- Strong operating rigor, executive presence, and presentation skills, including experience engaging with leadership
- Experience in a client-facing role managing relationships with large, global organizations
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong desire to work in a fast-paced and innovative environment
- A strong understanding of Stripe's business and products and an ability to research and self-start
