Remote Fintech Jobs: Which Companies Are Still Hiring Remotely?

Remote work is the norm in fintech hiring: 1,878 of the 3,142 active roles on Finjobsly that state a work style are remote, which is 59.8%, with 32.5% hybrid and 7.8% onsite. This guide uses Finjobsly's live job market data as of 20 October 2026, covering 4,187 active roles across 36 tracked employers, to show who hires remotely, which jobs allow it and how to search effectively.

Key findings

  • 1,878 roles are remote, 1,020 hybrid and 244 onsite, out of 3,142 roles that state a work style (Finjobsly data, 20 October 2026).
  • A further 1,045 of 4,187 active roles do not state a work style, so the true remote share could be higher or lower.
  • Affirm (214), Block (213), Coinbase (196), Adyen (162) and Ramp (154) have the most remote roles, followed by Stripe (136), Plaid (124), Kraken (84), Nubank (84) and Mercury (71).
  • Engineering is 25.5% of all active roles and sales is 21.8%, so most remote openings sit in those two families.

How many fintech jobs are remote?

As of 20 October 2026, 1,878 active roles in the panel are tagged remote. Among roles that state a work style, that is 59.8%. Hybrid is 32.5% and onsite only 7.8%. Fintech employers in the panel advertise remote or hybrid arrangements for more than nine in ten roles that state their policy. The caveat is the 1,045 roles with no stated work style, which we exclude from the percentages rather than guess.

Which fintech companies hire remotely?

Affirm leads with 214 remote roles, closely followed by Block with 213 and Coinbase with 196. Adyen (162), Ramp (154), Stripe (136), Plaid (124), Kraken (84), Nubank (84) and Mercury (71) complete the top ten. Some of these employers are large overall, so a high count partly reflects total hiring volume. Stripe has 776 active roles in total, the most in the panel, yet ranks sixth for remote roles, which suggests a larger share of its hiring is hybrid, onsite or unstated.

Which remote fintech roles are most common?

By title, the panel's 4,187 roles split into engineering (1,066, 25.5%), sales (914, 21.8%), product and design (404), data and machine learning (399), risk, compliance and legal (307), operations and support (219), finance (178), marketing (143) and people (76). A further 481 roles fall outside these groups. The skills tags that appear most often across all roles are Payments (1,966), Compliance (1,086), Go (980), Python (700) and SQL (611).

Remote engineering roles are the largest group, but remote sales, customer success and compliance roles are also common. If you do not code, read our guide to fintech jobs with no coding required.

Is remote fintech work available to juniors?

It is harder. Only 8.1% of seniority-labelled roles are junior or internship, and 70.1% are Senior or above. Employers often prefer to onboard early-career staff in person or in a hybrid setup. If you are early in your career, read the entry-level fintech jobs guide and look at hybrid roles in a city near you through the city pages.

Does remote work pay less?

The panel does not support a clean remote-versus-onsite pay comparison. Only 1,491 of 4,187 roles (35.6%) disclose pay, and the mix of seniority, country and employer differs between remote and non-remote roles. What we can say is that US roles with disclosed pay are well paid. US engineering roles have an average advertised range of about USD 190,499 to 247,871 across 416 roles, and the median midpoint for engineering is USD 216,000 (n=354). Check the salary benchmark for a specific role, and note that some employers adjust pay by location.

How to find and win a remote fintech job

  • Check the time zone and country restrictions in each listing, since many remote roles are limited to specific regions.
  • Show evidence of async work, such as written communication, documented projects and ownership without supervision.
  • Improve your CV with the resume analyzer and practise interviews with the career coach.

Methodology and data notes

Figures come from the Finjobsly tracked employer panel, which held 4,187 active roles at 36 employers on 20 October 2026. Work style percentages use the 3,142 roles that state a work style and leave out the 1,045 that do not. Job family shares come from title keywords, and skills shares come from skills tags, where one role can carry several. The panel covers the employers we track and not the whole fintech market.
