The OCC issued its final GENIUS Act rule on 21 October 2026, and the Act takes effect on the earlier of 18 January 2027 or 120 days after final rules. On Finjobsly's panel (27 October 2026), 101 of 4,200 active roles (2.4%) mention stablecoins, and 26.6% of roles carry a Compliance skill tag.
Key findings
- Published source: the OCC finalized its GENIUS Act stablecoin rule on 21 October 2026, covering reserves, redemption, risk management, audits, custody and capital.
- Published source: AML and sanctions rules sit in a separate Treasury rulemaking that FinCEN and OFAC proposed in April 2026, and we found no final version.
- Finjobsly observed (27 October 2026): 101 of 4,200 active roles mention stablecoin in the title or description, across 12 employers.
- Finjobsly observed: Stripe has 41 of those 101 roles, Ripple 26 and Coinbase 13. Together they hold 80 (79.2%).
- Finjobsly observed: 1,118 roles (26.6%) carry a Compliance skill tag, and 136 roles (3.2%) have compliance, AML, KYC or financial crime in the title.
What did the OCC's final rule settle?
According to reporting by Decrypt, the OCC's final rule of 21 October 2026 covers reserves, redemption, risk management, audits, custody and capital for stablecoin issuers. Law firm Chapman's rulemaking tracker records that the Act takes effect on the earlier of 18 January 2027 or 120 days after final regulations are issued.
It does not settle everything. The AML and sanctions rules sit in a separate Treasury rulemaking, which FinCEN and OFAC proposed in April 2026. We could not confirm a final version, so any claim about the finished AML requirements would go beyond what is published.
How many fintech jobs mention stablecoins today?
Few, and from a small set of employers. We searched titles and descriptions of the 4,200 active roles for the word stablecoin and found 101 matches at 12 employers.
| Employer | Roles mentioning stablecoin |
|---|---|
| Stripe | 41 |
| Ripple | 26 |
| Coinbase | 13 |
| Kraken | 5 |
| Nubank | 4 |
| SoFi | 3 |
| Bitpanda, Fireblocks, Block | 2 each |
| Ledger, Ramp, Checkout.com | 1 each |
A mention is not the same as a stablecoin-specific job. A role can name stablecoins in a paragraph about the product it supports. Treat 101 as an upper bound on roles tied to the topic, and note that three employers account for nearly four in five of them.
Where does compliance hiring stand?
Compliance is already a major skill across the panel. 1,118 roles (26.6%) carry a Compliance tag, which makes it the second most common skill after Payments. Looking only at titles, 136 roles (3.2%) mention compliance, AML, KYC or financial crime. The gap between the two numbers shows that compliance skills turn up in engineering, product and operations ads, not only in compliance jobs.
Outside our panel, CoinGecko and Tiger Research looked at 2,932 active crypto job postings in June 2026 and found compliance and legal roles were 10.4% of openings, second to engineering at 34.1%. Stablecoin and payments roles were 13.4%. That is crypto-sector data, so it is not directly comparable with ours.
None of these sources link the GENIUS Act to a measured number of new jobs. It is reasonable to call the Act a likely driver of compliance demand at issuers, and we would not go further than that.
What this means for compliance and risk candidates
If you work in AML, sanctions, risk or audit, stablecoin issuers and payments firms are the clearest places to look, because their rules now have dates. Check job ads for reserve management, redemption controls and custody, since those are the areas the OCC rule covers. Our pieces on where compliance demand sits and stablecoin and tokenization jobs in banks go deeper on both sides of the market.

Methodology and data sources
Data snapshot. Finjobsly live job market data, 27 October 2026: 4,200 active roles at 36 tracked employers. Stablecoin mentions are roles whose title or description contains the word stablecoin. Compliance skill share is the number of roles with a Compliance skill tag divided by 4,200. Title matches use the terms compliance, AML, KYC and financial crime.
Limits. The panel covers 36 employers and is not the whole market. A mention does not mean the job is about stablecoins. We make no trend claims, because Finjobsly connected its scrapers in July 2026. See the research methodology.
