Director of Product, Grow & EngageNew
About us
N26 is Europe's leading digital bank, fully licensed in Germany and active across more than 20 markets. We're not building another fintech product. We're building the bank people actually rely on: the account where their salary lands, their bills are paid, and their financial life is managed.
That ambition shapes how we build. As we enter a new phase of maturity, our focus is on scalability, robustness, and the kind of operational excellence that earns everyday trust — not just signups. New senior leaders are joining to drive this chapter, and we're sharpening how we ship and sustain products at scale.
We're also expanding into the moments that make a bank indispensable, from mobile connectivity to financial tools designed for families. These aren't adjacent experiments; they're part of a deliberate strategy to be embedded in daily life, not just downloaded and forgotten.
About the role
N26 is looking for a Director of Product to head up our Grow & Engage team. In this role, you will own Onboarding & Identity, Engagement & Product Discovery, Subscriptions, Primary Banking domains and lead a cross-functional team driving real impact across N26 — from user growth strategies, onboarding and identity and customer-facing features.
You will work at the intersection of Product, Engineering, Marketing and Compliance on one side, and real-world banking challenges on the other. Your mission is to translate user acquisition, onboarding, subscriptions and engagement strategies into scalable, compliant product experiences that create long-term value for N26's customers. You will be the connective tissue between growth mechanics and business outcomes, ensuring that conversion initiatives and subscription models reach production and deliver tangible top-line results.
Your impact
- Drive the Growth & Engagement product roadmap: Lead the strategic vision across user onboarding, identity verification, and subscription features, balancing immediate conversion wins with long-term commercial bets.
- Deliver on company-wide OKRs: Take full accountability for key growth metrics, including Primary Account Users (PAU), gross profit and customer retention.
- Lead end-to-end product delivery: Own the entire product lifecycle for core growth initiatives—from opportunity sizing and A/B experimentation to market launch and continuous iteration.
- Execute flagship commercial initiatives: Partner with Marketing, Compliance, and Engineering to bring high-impact offerings (such as our super tier) to market seamlessly.
- Bridge Growth & Compliance: Navigate complex regulatory standards while maintaining top-of-funnel velocity, ensuring every product launch is both fully compliant and frictionless for users.
- Foster an experimental culture: Drive a high-rigor, hypothesis-led experimentation framework across your team to optimize conversion funnels and maximize user LTV.
- Manage senior stakeholder alignment: Act as the strategic connective tissue between Product, Marketing, Risk/Compliance, and executive leadership, ensuring clear communication and shared priorities.
- Establish actionable growth metrics: Define and track KPIs that measure user engagement, funnel efficiency, and bottom-line business value to ensure total accountability for outcomes.
What you bring
- 10+ years of product management experience, with a heavy focus on driving user acquisition, onboarding, engagement, or subscription growth within a scaled consumer app.
- Commercial & business acumen: Proven track record of tying product decisions directly to top-line business metrics (such as RGU, PAU, gross profit, and LTV). You think like a business owner, not just a feature builder.
- Deep analytical mastery: Exceptional ability to work with complex data sets, design rigorous A/B experiments, analyze funnel conversion, and ground every product decision in quantitative evidence.
- Growth mechanics expertise: Deep familiarity with core engagement levers, including identity verification, onboarding optimization, retention loops, and subscription packaging.
- Cross-functional leadership: Demonstrated success aligning product strategy with Marketing, Growth, and Compliance teams to execute seamless, high-stakes go-to-market launches.
- Regulatory & financial services awareness: Experience operating within banking or regulated environments, balancing aggressive growth targets with strict compliance standards.
- Agile & iterative execution: Comfortable managing multiple growth workstreams in fast-paced, high-velocity environments.
- Exceptional communication: Proven ability to translate complex growth hypotheses and performance metrics into clear, compelling narratives for executive stakeholders.
