Inside Sales Account ExecutiveNew

BlockLondon, United Kingdom
Full-timeNot specifiedJul 28, 2026

Since we opened our doors in 2009, the world of commerce has evolved immensely, and so has Square. After enabling anyone to take payments and never miss a sale, we saw sellers stymied by disparate, outmoded products and tools that wouldn’t work together.

So we expanded into software and started building integrated, omnichannel solutions – to help sellers sell online, manage inventory, offer buy now, pay later functionality, book appointments, engage loyal buyers, and hire and pay staff. Across it all, we’ve embedded financial services tools at the point of sale, so merchants can access a business loan and manage their cash flow in one place. Afterpay furthers our goal to provide omnichannel tools that unlock meaningful value and growth, enabling sellers to capture the next generation shopper, increase order sizes, and compete at a larger scale.

Today, we are a partner to sellers of all sizes – large, enterprise-scale businesses with complex operations, sellers just starting, as well as merchants who began selling with Square and have grown larger over time. As our sellers grow, so do our solutions. There is a massive opportunity in front of us. We’re building a significant, meaningful, and lasting business, and we are helping sellers worldwide do the same.

Senior Director of Engineering, Developer and Agent ExperienceNew

ToastRemote, United States
Full-timeNot specifiedJul 28, 2026

Toast creates technology to help restaurants and local businesses succeed in a digital world, helping business owners operate, increase sales, engage customers, and keep employees happy.

As the Head of Developer & Agent Experience, you will lead the development of Toast’s AI-native engineering operating system—transforming how software is built from idea to production. This is a hands-on leadership role. You will actively design and build systems, review architecture, and contribute to core platform direction, rather than operating purely through management layers.

This role is focused on systemizing AI across the software development lifecycle (SDLC), and product development lifecycle (PDLC) to turn tool usage into a scalable, standardized, and high-leverage engineering system. Partnering closely with senior technical leaders across Product, Engineering, and Design, you will define and deliver the platforms, workflows, and guardrails that enable teams to move from specification to code, test, and deployment with AI embedded at every step.

A day in the life (Responsibilities)

  • Define and deliver the core platform enabling AI-native development, including the model access layer (LLMs, routing, governance), agent orchestration systems (code, test, review, deploy), prompt/specification frameworks, coding harnesses and an internal AI marketplace
  • Design and implement AI-driven development systems that convert PRDs and design specs into executable workflows, enabling the automated generation of code, tests, documentation, and infrastructure
  • Re-architect the developer experience across the inner loop (local development, testing, iteration) and outer loop (CI/CD, deployment, release) to reduce friction in PR creation, code reviews, and validation
  • Partner with Engineering, Product and Design leaders to transition individual AI tool usage into standardized workflows, establishing tooling defaults, playbooks, and training to ensure active AI usage across R&D
  • Define and monitor the north-star metrics and own the dashboards and feedback loops that turn them into action. This role owns model-cost optimization, routing, and governance, while org-wide spend and scorecard reporting sits with Technical Operations
  • Build and lead a focused organization specialized in AI platform engineering, agent systems, automation and developer experience integration
  • Own the human-facing developer experience alongside the agent-facing one: local development and inner-loop tooling, the Developer Portal and service catalog, core libraries and service templates, schema-first tooling, and authoritative service metadata — and establish a durable operating contract with Release Engineering for the delivery machinery underneath
  • Architect for optionality rather than lock-in: keep the harness layer model-agnostic, evaluate open-weight and self-hosted options, and ensure marketplace skills, plugins, and agents remain portable across models and vendors

What you'll need to thrive (Requirements)

  • You must possess deep technical proficiency in applied AI and agentic architectures, serving as the definitive internal authority.
  • 15+ years in software engineering, including senior leadership roles, with a background in high-velocity engineering organizations
  • Proven experience building and scaling developer platforms, internal engineering systems, CI/CD, build systems or platform tooling
  • Ability to design end-to-end workflows and systemic, long-term platforms rather than point solutions or developer tooling
  • Familiarity with prompt engineering, context design, developer-facing API/platform design and usage-based cost models/platform governance
  • Proven capability to drive organization-wide adoption of new tools, workflows, playbooks, and structural standards across a large, diverse R&D ecosystem
  • Experience operating inside real compliance constraints — PCI, SOX, or equivalent — and a track record of reducing scope or negotiating defensible exceptions rather than accepting them as permanent blockers

  • Fill the top of the funnel. Own outbound prospecting through LinkedIn, cold calling, and digital outreach — identifying the right targets, sparking the right conversations, and booking qualified meetings for the Sales Directors.
  • Build a pipeline the team can close from. Collaborate with Sales Directors and fellow SDRs to develop sharp, well-researched prospect target lists that translate into real commercial opportunities.
  • Keep the CRM clean and current. Maintain accurate records of all sales activity and client interactions so the team always has a clear, reliable view of pipeline and progress.
  • Arm the team with the right materials. Assist in preparing sales collateral and presentations that give Carta Law's value proposition the clarity and credibility it deserves in front of sophisticated legal and fund clients.
  • Stay ahead of the market. Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and market developments so your outreach is timely, relevant, and positioned to land.

About You

  • A proven B2B prospector. You have 1+ years of experience recommended in a B2B sales role — you understand the outbound motion, you're comfortable with cold outreach and rejection, and you know how to earn a conversation.
  • A strong communicator who earns credibility fast. You can engage effectively with sophisticated prospects — including lawyers, CCOs, and fund partners — and articulate why Carta Law is worth their time, clearly and confidently.
  • Organized and self-directed. You manage your own pipeline, prioritize effectively across competing demands, and don't need to be chased to follow up — you're already ahead of it.
  • CRM and tools fluent. You have a working understanding of CRM systems and sales tracking tools, and you treat data hygiene as a professional standard, not an afterthought.
  • Flexible and growth-oriented. You adapt quickly in a fast-moving environment, collaborate well across functions — including with C-suite and lead lawyers — and you're motivated by the path this role opens up, not just the role itself. Must be able to work Eastern Time hours (9am–6pm ET), Monday to Friday.

Salary

We are hiring for multiple levels and locations, so final offers may vary from the amounts listed based on geography, experience and expertise, and other factors. Carta's compensation package includes a market competitive salary, equity for all full time roles, exceptional benefits, and, for applicable roles, commissions plans.

About Stripe

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies - from the world’s largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups - use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone's reach while doing the most important work of your career.

About the team

Stripes on the Government Relations & Public Affairs team operate in a fast-paced internal and external environment that requires collaborating with teams across our organization and with outside stakeholders. The culture is thoughtful, transparent, academically rigorous, and kind. In this role, you will have the opportunity to impact the trajectory of Stripe in the US and enhance financial innovation and inclusion.

If you are a team player who wants to represent millions of businesses around the world growing on Stripe, we look forward to hearing from you!

What you’ll do

In this role you will deal with a diverse set of issues that straddle financial services, technology, internet regulation, and economic policy. You will define, shape, and advocate for initiatives that increase the GDP of the Internet. You will maintain deep relationships with Members of Congress, committee staff, key federal regulators, and the Executive Branch — building and executing legislative and regulatory strategies on issues central to Stripe's mission, including payments modernization, financial regulation, artificial intelligence, and the future of agentic commerce.

This role must reside in the DC, Maryland, Virginia area. We are not accepting remote candidates.

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of our Government Relations & Public Affairs team across the globe to strategically develop, pursue, and execute policy objectives as part of Stripe's global policy priorities
  • Lead and execute federal legislative advocacy — managing Stripe's engagement with Congress on key legislative priorities including stablecoins, digital assets, open banking, AI governance, and payments regulation
  • Build and maintain relationships with Members of Congress, committee and personal staff, and serve as Stripe's frontline representative on federal legislation affecting the payments and technology industries
  • Engage federal regulatory agencies — including the Treasury Department, OCC, FDIC, Federal Reserve, CFPB, and others — to educate them about Stripe's business, advocate for sound policy outcomes, and navigate regulatory proceedings
  • Plan, develop, and execute policy initiatives and campaigns that advance Stripe's policy goals and those of our users
  • Help colleagues across Stripe understand federal legislative and regulatory developments, identify policy opportunities to grow our business, and translate complex policy dynamics into actionable guidance
  • Represent Stripe on trade groups, coalitions, and industry bodies engaged on federal policy issues

Who you are

We're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.

Minimum requirements

  • At least 10+ years of experience in a policymaking, government, or senior advocacy role — ideally a mix of time on Capitol Hill, in a federal regulatory agency, or in a world-class organization as an in-house government relations expert or other business-related role
  • A background working for a Member of Congress, a committee or leadership office, or in a senior policy role at the US Treasury, OCC, FDIC, White House, or comparable federal institution — with a track record of navigating bipartisan legislative environments
  • Deep expertise in financial services regulation and payments policy, with a strong understanding of the legislative and regulatory landscape across banking, money transmission, and digital assets
  • Familiarity with, and ideally direct experience on, emerging technology policy — including artificial intelligence, agentic commerce, and the regulatory questions that arise at the intersection of AI and financial services
  • Strong relationships with policymakers and staff on both sides of the aisle and a reputation for credibility, reliability, and good judgment
  • A proven track record of managing complex, technical policy issues — capable of managing major initiatives independently, driving coalitions, or project managing a cross-functional team
  • Excellent judgment — capable of making smart decisions in the face of ambiguity and imperfect information and learning from them
  • A terrific communicator and writer, adept at working with lawyers, regulators, engineers, business teams, and colleagues to make complex concepts clear and understandable
  • Passion for Stripe's mission of helping businesses grow and thrive
  • A collaborative, curious team-first mindset with experience thriving in ambiguous, high-growth or startup environments across global offices.
  • Empathy, humility, and a respect for those who have views that are different from yours
  • A willingness to work with a diverse group of policy, regulatory, and product professionals who care deeply about Stripe's policy issues, our users, and each other
  • Willingness to travel 25% for meetings and events.

Fintech sits at the intersection of regulated finance and consumer-grade software, and FinJobsly tracks the people building it. Every role on this page comes from a primary employer ATS or trusted partner — Stripe, Revolut, Wise, Monzo, Starling, Klarna, GoCardless, Adyen, Tide, Brex, Plaid, Affirm, Carta and several hundred others — so you only see live, currently-hiring positions instead of stale aggregator copies.

We split fintech hiring into the buckets that actually map to job ladders: payments and money movement, neobanking, lending and credit, wealth and wealth-tech, RegTech and compliance, and the platform/infrastructure layer used by all of the above. Filters along the side let you narrow by remote-first vs hybrid, seniority, contract type, and base salary band, while the keyword search reads the full job description (not just the title) so a search for “PSD2” or “KYC” surfaces roles even when the title is something generic like “Senior Backend Engineer”.

If you are early in your career, the entry-level and graduate filter highlights structured programmes at Monzo, Revolut and Wise. Mid- and senior-level engineers will find a strong skew toward Go, TypeScript, Kotlin and Python, while product, design and risk functions are dominated by London, Berlin, New York, Singapore and remote-EMEA postings. Salary benchmarks shown on each card are sourced from posted ranges where the employer publishes them, never from third-party guesses, so the numbers you see are the numbers you can negotiate against.

FinJobsly is built specifically for fintech: jobs are auto-tagged with the exact stack and regulatory regime mentioned in the description, duplicate listings from the same ATS are collapsed, and roles older than 30 days drop off automatically. The result is a clean, opinionated board where every click goes to a real role you can apply to today.

Direct-to-employer applications

Apply links go straight to the employer's ATS — no recruiter middlemen, no expired postings.

Salary transparency where available

Where employers publish salary bands we surface them on the card; where they don't we mark it explicitly.

Built-in role filters

Slice live listings by remote, seniority, contract type, stack and regulatory experience.
