Senior Principal Software Engineer, GTM
Toast creates technology to help restaurants and local businesses succeed in a digital world, helping business owners operate, increase sales, engage customers, and keep employees happy.
GTM Experiences defines how Toast engages with, supports, and grows customers across their entire lifecycle. This organization brings together Onboarding, Support, and Product-Led Growth (PLG) into a unified group responsible for designing and delivering a cohesive, end-to-end customer experience powered by intelligent systems and agents.
This team builds the platforms and experiences that shape how customers discover value, get started, receive help, and expand their use of Toast. We operate at the intersection of customer experience, agent experience, and product experience, developing systems that enable seamless transitions across lifecycle stages and channels.
GTM Experiences owns a broad ecosystem that includes customer onboarding journeys and activation systems, product-led growth surfaces and in-product engagement, customer support experiences and agent tooling, communications and engagement infrastructure, and AI-powered and agent-assisted lifecycle capabilities.
As Toast continues to grow, we are reimagining the customer lifecycle as a connected, intelligent platform rather than a set of siloed experiences. GTM Experiences plays a critical role in defining how these systems come together to deliver consistent, scalable, and high-quality experiences from first touch through long-term success.
About This Role
We are building the Customer Experience Platform that will define how Toast engages, supports, and grows customers at scale.

You will help define how lifecycle stages connect into a unified experience and drive platform level decisions that unlock business outcomes. You will help define how core components of the support ecosystem — including AI-assisted capabilities, contact center infrastructure, agent tooling, and customer-facing support experiences — work together as a unified platform. You will partner closely with engineering, product, design, Care, Onboarding, and Growth leadership to establish a shared technical vision, make high-impact architectural decisions, and ensure that our platform scales with increasing complexity while improving customer outcomes.
Success in this role requires strong systems thinking, platform design expertise, and the ability to operate across organizational boundaries. You will bring clarity to a complex ecosystem, drive alignment across teams, and ensure our investments translate into measurable improvements in customer activation, retention, and support quality.
A day in the life (Responsibilities)
- Define and drive the multi-year technical strategy for the GTM Experiences LOB, ensuring alignment with company goals and long-term customer experience outcomes.
- Lead architectural direction for critical platform capabilities that support customer and agent experiences, including contact center infrastructure, AI-assisted support systems, internal agent tooling, onboarding and activation systems, product-led growth experiences
- Evaluate and de-risk major technical investments such as platform migrations, vendor integrations, and large-scale architectural changes.
- Ensure that systems across onboarding, support, and growth operate as a cohesive, extensible platform rather than disconnected point solutions.
- Partner with product, design, Care, Onboarding, and Growth leadership to translate strategic goals into scalable technical solutions that improve outcomes and operational efficiency.
- Establish architectural principles and engineering standards that support long-term platform scalability, flexibility, and velocity.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to senior engineers, helping raise the overall engineering bar across the GTM Experiences organization.
- Influence technical direction across multiple teams and functions, aligning stakeholders around shared platform decisions and long-term strategy.

- Demonstrated experience defining technical strategy or architecture for complex platforms spanning multiple systems and teams.
- Strong systems thinking and platform design experience, with the ability to connect individual services and tools into coherent technical ecosystems.
- Proven ability to lead high-impact architectural decisions and guide organizations through complex technical transitions.
- Experience influencing technical direction across teams and collaborating with product, design, and operational partners to deliver meaningful business outcomes.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to articulate complex technical ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Senior Manager, Hedge Accounting
At Ripple, we’re building a world where value moves like information does today. It’s big, it’s bold, and we’re already doing it. Through our crypto solutions for financial institutions, businesses, governments and developers, we are improving the global financial system and creating greater economic fairness and opportunity for more people, in more places around the world. And we get to do the best work of our career and grow our skills surrounded by colleagues who have our backs.
If you’re ready to see your impact and unlock incredible career growth opportunities, join us, and build real world value.
THE WORK:
As Senior Manager, Hedge Accounting at Ripple Treasury, you are the subject matter expert — spanning both FX and Interest Rate risk management — the person clients, auditors, and colleagues turn to on the most complex ASC 815 and IFRS 9 questions, and the senior level expert who sets the standard the team grows into.
You own the quality and integrity of every hedge accounting deliverable we produce, from hedge documentation and effectiveness testing through journal entries, disclosures, and audit support. You develop the Derivative Accountants and the broader team. And you drive the process discipline that makes our practice scalable — building the workflows, templates, and operational habits that let us do exceptional work efficiently, quarter after quarter.
This role is for a senior level practitioner and leader who combines deep technical authority, hands-on delivery responsibility, and a builder’s mindset.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Technical Leadership
- Serve as the primary SME for hedge accounting under ASC 815 and IFRS 9, advising clients directly on establishing and executing their FX and Interest Rate hedge programs — including hedge designation, effectiveness testing methodology, de-designation scenarios, and disclosure requirements — providing authoritative, audit-defensible technical guidance across fair value, cash flow, and net investment hedges.
- Review and approve hedge documentation, designation memos, risk management objectives, and effectiveness testing methodologies across the client portfolio.
- Oversee quantitative and qualitative effectiveness assessments (regression analysis, dollar-offset, hypothetical derivative method) across FX and Interest Rate hedge relationships, on a prospective and retrospective basis.
- Guide clients through structuring new FX and Interest Rate hedging relationships to achieve qualification and optimize accounting outcomes.
- Translate FASB and IASB standard updates into clear, actionable impact summaries for clients and internal teams — before the deadline, not at it.
- Lead audit support: own final review of work product and direct engagement with external auditors on hedge accounting matters, escalating contested or precedent-setting positions to the Head of Managed Services.
Team Management & Development
- Mentor and develop Derivative Accounting team members.
- Provide ongoing coaching, guidance, and feedback that strengthens technical depth and delivery effectiveness of Derivative Accounting team members.
- Promote and reinforce a team culture grounded in technical rigor, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Process Improvement & Operational Excellence
- Identify and implement process improvements across the hedge accounting lifecycle — from trade capture and documentation through close, disclosure, and audit response.
- Develop, document, and maintain standardized workflows, templates, and close checklists that scale across a growing client portfolio.
- Evaluate and leverage technology solutions that increase accuracy, reduce manual effort, and improve efficiency.
- Establish and track team KPIs for delivery quality, timeliness, and client satisfaction; use data to drive decisions.
- Lead retrospectives after each close cycle to capture what worked, what didn’t, and what changes before next quarter.
Client Service & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Serve as the first-line escalation point for client inquiries, audit questions, and complex accounting positions across the managed services portfolio — resolving what falls within established practice standards, and flagging anything novel or contested upward.
- Build trusted relationships with client treasury, accounting, and finance leadership — advising at a strategic level, not just executing deliverables.
- Partner with Ripple Treasury’s Product, Implementation, and Customer Success teams to inform platform capabilities and service design.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
- CPA required; advanced degree in Accounting or Finance a plus.
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 7 years focused on derivative instruments and hedge accounting under ASC 815 and IFRS 9, spanning both FX and Interest Rate risk management.
- Proven experience in developing accounting team member expertise — in public accounting, managed services, or corporate finance.
- Deep technical fluency in ASC 815 and IFRS 9, including practical hedge accounting elections, effectiveness testing methodologies, and disclosure requirements — you can research, interpret, and apply the standards independently.
- Strong understanding of FX derivative instruments (FX forwards, options, cross-currency swaps) and interest rate derivative instruments (interest rate swaps, caps, floors, collars), and the distinct hedge accounting considerations each presents.
- Demonstrated track record of designing and implementing process improvements.
- Experience with hedge accounting platforms (Ripple Treasury, Chatham Financial, Reval, FIS Quantum, or comparable TMS) strongly preferred.
- Comfortable managing multiple client engagements simultaneously — precise, organized, and able to prioritize under tight deadlines.
- Strong communicator: you make complex accounting conclusions accessible to non-technical audiences, and you hold your ground on technical positions when it matters.
WHO WE ARE:
Do Your Best Work
- The opportunity to build in a fast-paced start-up environment with experienced industry leaders
- A learning environment where you can dive deep into the latest technologies and make an impact. A professional development budget to support other modes of learning.
- Thrive in an environment where no matter what race, ethnicity, gender, origin, or culture they identify with, every employee is a respected, valued, and empowered part of the team.
- In-office collaboration for moments that matter is important to our culture, and we give managers and teams the flexibility to decide which 10+ days a month they come in.
- Bi-weekly all-company meeting - business updates and ask me anything style discussion with our Leadership Team
- We come together for moments that matter which include team offsites, team bonding activities, happy hours and more!

Forward Deployed Engineering Team Lead - Operations
This is Adyen
Adyen provides payments, data, and financial products in a single solution for customers like Meta, Uber, H&M, and Microsoft - making us the financial technology platform of choice. At Adyen, everything we do is engineered for ambition.
For our teams, we create an environment with opportunities for our people to succeed, backed by the culture and support to ensure they are enabled to truly own their careers. We are motivated individuals who tackle unique technical challenges at scale and solve them as a team. Together, we deliver innovative and ethical solutions that help businesses achieve their ambitions faster.
Forward Deployed Engineering Team Lead - Operations
This role focuses on moving beyond isolated pilots and volunteer-led activity, and building a more deliberate approach to re-engineering work through AI, automation, and better operating design.
This role will lead that for Ops. It will set the direction for what an AI-native, and highly leveraged operations model should look like, help identify where the biggest opportunities sit, and create the structure that allows domain-owned use cases to turn into real outcomes.
Domain leads will remain accountable for the impact delivered in their own areas. This role exists to bring the thought leadership, technical credibility, outside-in perspective, and driving force needed to help make that happen across the function.
Forward Deployed Engineering Team Lead - Operations
- Set the AI and innovation direction for Operations, with a clear view of what will create the most meaningful step change in customer experience, productivity, quality, and scalability.
- Work with the domains to identify and prioritise the use cases that matter most, based on business value, feasibility, and readiness.
- Lead the central Ops innovation model, including the structure, ways of working, and foundations needed for domain-led re-engineering to succeed.
- Lead a small team of Forward Deployed AI specialists to turn ideas into real, scalable solutions.
- Build credibility for AI across Ops through clear thinking, practical examples, and a strong view of where the real value is and where the risks are.
- Stay current on the AI landscape, emerging patterns, and market developments, and translate that into practical implications for how Ops should evolve.
- Work with central business enablement and capability teams so that new capabilities landing across the company are connected to Ops needs, and the right upskilling happens as use cases scale.
- Represent Operations in central engineering, making sure that Ops priorities are well understood, well framed, and well supported.
- Track progress and value delivered, and keep the focus on outcomes rather than activity.
What good looks like
- Ops has a clear and credible point of view on where AI should and should not be applied.
- The Domains have better clarity on where to focus and what will drive the biggest outcomes.
- High-value use cases move fast from idea to implementation.
- The relationship between Ops and central engineering is stronger, with clearer translation between operational needs and technical delivery.
- AI adoption in Ops is deliberate, practical, connected to real workflow improvement.
- We build scalable solutions that drive meaningful outcomes.
- Teams are better equipped to work differently as new tools and workflows land.
What you bring
- Strong operational judgement. You understand how real work happens, where friction sits, and what it takes to redesign workflows in practice.
- Enough technical depth to have credibility with engineers and technical partners. You do not need to be the hands-on builder for every solution, but you do need to understand architectures, trade-offs, risks, and what good looks like.
- Deep curiosity in AI and adjacent technology. You naturally keep up with the space, understand where the market is moving, and can separate substance from hype.
- The ability to turn ideas into outcomes. You can move from concept to prioritisation to implementation, and you know how to avoid getting stuck in pilot mode.
- Strong executive presence. You can command respect with senior stakeholders, challenge constructively, and represent Operations well in cross-functional discussions.
- A practical, creative, solution-oriented mindset.
- Long-term thinking. You can look beyond the next pilot or tool and help shape the foundations for where Ops needs to go over time.
- Strong cross-functional instincts. You are comfortable working across operations, engineering, data, product, enablement, and capability teams.
Who you are
- Led meaningful transformation in an operations or service environment.
- Built or scaled AI, automation, or digital workflow improvements beyond small experiments.
- Worked closely with engineering or technical teams and can hold your own in those conversations.
- Influenced senior leaders and moved cross-functional agendas forward without relying only on formal authority.
- Helped shape operating models, governance, or delivery mechanisms that made change more repeatable.
- Worked in an environment where pace, ambiguity, and practical execution all mattered.
Our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion commitments
Our unique approach is a product of our diverse perspectives. This diversity of backgrounds and cultures is essential in helping us maintain our momentum. Our business and technical challenges are unique, and we need as many different voices as possible to join us in solving them - voices like yours. No matter who you are or where you’re from, we welcome you to be your true self at Adyen.
Studies show that women and members of underrepresented communities apply for jobs only if they meet 100% of the qualifications. Does this sound like you? If so, Adyen encourages you to reconsider and apply. We look forward to your application!
What’s next?
Ensuring a smooth and enjoyable candidate experience is critical for us. We aim to get back to you regarding your application within 5 business days. Our interview process tends to take about 4 weeks to complete, but may fluctuate depending on the role. Learn more about our hiring process here.
