The Team You'll Work With

You'll be joining our Compliance – Transactional Sub Division.

This team works at the intersection of private equity deal-making and regulatory compliance — conducting KYC due diligence on complex asset management entities to ensure every transaction Carta supports is clean, compliant, and defensible. You'll partner with deal teams, lawyers, and compliance professionals on live transactions involving fund structures, SPVs, and multi-jurisdictional counterparties.

The Problems You'll Solve

At Carta, our employees set out on a mission to unlock the power of equity ownership for more people in more places. We believe that the problems we solve today unlock the opportunities of tomorrow. As a Transactional KYC Analyst, you'll work to:

  • Dig into transaction structures. Work closely with private equity deal teams to understand deal anatomy, identify counterparties, and conduct risk analysis with a focus on AML, bribery, financial crime, and reputational exposure.
  • Unpack complex entity ownership. Review ownership and control structures — fund vehicles, SPVs, partnerships, trusts — to build a complete and accurate picture of who sits behind every transaction.
  • Drive the materials-gathering process. Liaise with deal teams, legal, compliance, and counterparties to obtain the documentation needed to complete KYC reviews on time and to a high standard.
  • Keep deals compliant. Collaborate with clients' legal and compliance teams to ensure their transactions meet AML/CTF regulations, internal policies, and jurisdiction-specific requirements — flagging issues early so deals don't stall at closing.

About You

  • Early-career with strong legal or compliance foundations. You have  1-2+ years of working or internship experience in a legal sector role, internship, or graduate position — with working knowledge of legal administration, document review, and regulatory compliance.
  • Analytically minded and meticulous. You work through complex structures carefully and methodically — you catch what matters and document it clearly.
  • A clear communicator in writing and in conversation. Your written work is precise and professional; your verbal communication gives counterparties and colleagues confidence that you know what you're doing.
  • Deadline-oriented and adaptable. You manage multiple priorities under pressure without losing accuracy — and you're energised, not overwhelmed, by a fast-moving compliance environment.
  • Curious about private markets. Familiarity with fund structures, offshore jurisdictions (Cayman, Luxembourg), or KYC screening tools (WorldCheck, Refinitiv, RDC) is a meaningful advantage. ICA or ACAMS certification is a plus.

At Carta, you're not just an employee. You're a builder who is creating infrastructure that accelerates innovation and empowers more ownership. Cartans are helpful, relentless, unconventional and kind; representing Carta's Identity Traits. They work collaboratively and cross functionally to challenge the status quo; working towards a common goal of creating more owners in the private markets.

The Team You'll Work With

You'll be joining our Inbound Compliance team.

This team sits at the front line of Carta's compliance function — managing the intake and resolution of KYC requests on behalf of some of the world's leading asset managers and private equity firms. You'll work in a high-volume, client-facing environment where accuracy, speed, and regulatory fluency aren't optional — they're the baseline.

The Problems You'll Solve

At Carta, our employees set out on a mission to unlock the power of equity ownership for more people in more places. We believe that the problems we solve today unlock the opportunities of tomorrow. As a KYC Analyst – Inbound Compliance, you'll work to:

  • Own the KYC request lifecycle. Manage the intake, processing, and timely resolution of inbound KYC requests from clients and their counterparties — ensuring nothing falls through the cracks and every response meets the standard.
  • Be the client's compliance guide. Serve as the primary point of contact for KYC inquiries, giving clients clear, confident answers on global KYC requirements so they can move their transactions forward.
  • Uphold the regulatory bar. Review and validate KYC documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with AML, KYC, and applicable international frameworks — and make the call when something doesn't pass muster.
  • Keep records airtight. Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of all KYC requests and documentation in Carta's systems — so the team always has a clean audit trail.
  • Stay ahead of a moving target. Monitor evolving KYC/AML regulations globally and apply updated requirements to daily work, ensuring Carta's compliance posture keeps pace with regulatory change.

About You

  • Detail-oriented under pressure. You catch what others miss — and you do it consistently, even when managing a high volume of concurrent requests against tight deadlines.
  • Confident and client-ready. You can hold your own in KYC conversations with senior stakeholders and counterparties — assertive, professional, and knowing when to escalate versus when to resolve.
  • 1-2+ years of regulatory experience. You have a working understanding of global KYC and AML frameworks and can apply them practically, not just cite them. AML/KYC certifications (ICA, ACAMS) are a plus but not required.
  • A proactive decision-maker. You don't wait to be told what to do — you assess the situation, apply the right framework, and move forward with minimal supervision.
  • Experienced in complex legal entities. Prior exposure to corporate banking, a legal service provider, or a fund compliance environment is a strong plus — particularly familiarity with offshore jurisdictions like Cayman or Luxembourg.

At Carta, you're not just an employee. You're a builder who is creating infrastructure that accelerates innovation and empowers more ownership. Cartans are helpful, relentless, unconventional and kind; representing Carta's Identity Traits. The Problems You'll Solve

At Carta, our employees set out on a mission to unlock the power of equity ownership for more people in more places. We believe that the problems we solve today unlock the opportunities of tomorrow. As a Compliance Analyst, you'll work to:

The Team You'll Work With

You'll be joining our Compliance – Transactional Sub Division under Carta Law.

This role is on the SMB sales team within the Private Corporations business unit. You will join a team of account executives to sell to our early-stage companies, typically Series A and earlier. As an E3 Account Executive, your focus will be on individual execution, personal velocity, and hitting quota while scaling your career trajectory.

The Problems You'll Solve

The SMB segment has grown tremendously over the last 12 months. We must continue winning early-stage companies and making them lifelong customers. To do so, we need to capture companies at their incorporation and support them as their cap table needs change and their compliance requirements become more complex.

Some of the problems you'll help us solve are:

  • Consistent Quota Attainment: Develop a comprehensive sales strategy and sales plan that ensures consistent achievement of quota.
  • High-Velocity Execution: Efficiently manage a fast-paced sales cycle to sustainably close 20–25 deals/contracts per month.
  • Outbound Prospecting: Prospect, qualify, and build a robust pipeline of potential SMB clients using a systematic, high-volume approach.
  • Deal Management: Handle contract discussions, proactively address objections, develop pricing proposals, and finalize sales agreements.
  • Customer Insights: Deeply understand customer needs and requirements, surfacing key findings back to the broader Carta team.
  • Pipeline Hygiene: Maintain clean, accurate records of interactions, deals, and progress within our CRM tools (Salesforce, Terret)..

The Impact You'll Have

As an Account Executive at Carta, you'll introduce early-stage companies and venture-backed founders to our best-in-class software platform. You will help them streamline their equity management, stay compliant, and unlock liquidity in the private markets, setting them up for long-term operational success.

About You

We are looking for someone hungry to grow, coachable enough to listen, and resilient enough to handle a fast-paced ramp. You should be deeply curious about solving founder problems, entirely accountable for your results, and humble enough to ask for help when you need it.

Desired Traits & Competencies:

  • Execution Hunger & Drive: You possess a strong quota mentality, competitive fire, and strict pipeline discipline.
  • Coachability: You receive critical feedback well, drop the ego, and adjust your behavior quickly to continuously build your skills.
  • Resilience & Grit: You possess the mental toughness to handle repeated rejection, stay motivated during slow cycles, and view setbacks as learning opportunities.
  • Ownership & Accountability: You take full responsibility for your outcomes, own your mistakes, and focus on driving solutions rather than blaming external factors like territory or market conditions.
  • System Literacy: You have a strong baseline comfort learning modern sales systems like Salesforce, Terret, Chorus and Pitchbook.
  • Curiosity & Domain Interest: You are genuinely interested in the startup/founder ecosystem and want to understand product-adjacent concepts like cap tables and equity.
  • Communication Clarity: You are a transparent, concise, and direct communicator who proactively updates leadership on blockers.

AI Competency & Efficiency

At Carta, we look for modern sales professionals who view artificial intelligence as a core lever for scaling their impact. You will actively leverage AI—specifically demonstrating comfort with Claude Code and related frameworks—to optimize your workflow, showing mastery across the following dimensions:

  • Strategic Prospecting: Using AI to efficiently tier your account book, uncover new startup leads by querying datasets (Salesforce, Pitchbook, Form D), and systematically track your book on an ongoing basis.
  • On-Demand Coaching & Growth: Proactively utilizing AI to accelerate your own onboarding, run scenario simulations, unpack call outcomes, and receive tactical performance feedback.
  • Tailored Client Communications: Leveraging AI for copywriting and message personalization, enabling you to draft clear, concise outreach and navigate complex founder objections with creative precision.
  • Admin Automation & Organization: Employing AI to synthesize meeting notes, organize daily workflows, clean data records, and eliminate friction from manual admin tasks to protect your high-velocity selling time.
  • Improved Velocity & Efficiency: Actively demonstrating an AI-forward mindset where prompt engineering and workflow automation are used to maximize daily output, ensuring a fast ramp to full quota.

What We Will Train You On

You do not need to be a fintech or equity expert on day one! We explicitly hire for potential and growth mindset. We will fully train and support you on:

  • Deep fintech knowledge and equity administration basics like Cap Tables, CTC, QSBS, and Equity Advisory..
  • The MEDDIC sales qualification framework.
  • Advanced CRM environments and specialized tools like Salesforce, Terret, and Outreach.
  • SMB territory knowledge and market mapping.
  • Note: We are looking for an individual contributor execution focus—previous mentoring or team scaling leadership is not required.

Salary & Benefits

Carta's compensation package includes a market-competitive salary, equity for all full-time roles, exceptional benefits, and highly rewarding commission plans. Annualized salary is based on an estimated 40-hour work week before overtime. Final offers may vary based on geography, candidate experience, expertise, and other strategic factors.

Our cash compensation (salary + commission) range for this role is:

  • $150k OTE in New York City, NY (equivalent to an hourly rate of $36.06).

The Team You’ll Work With

You will join Corporate IT, the team responsible for the experience of working at Carta. Our IT Support Engineers are the human face of IT. As a Sr. IT Support Engineer, you lead complex initiatives, serve as the team’s escalation point in your workstream, and mentor E2/E3 engineers. You partner directly with Security, People, Finance, and the executive team.

The Problems You’ll Solve

Own the User Experience: You resolve complex issues across our SaaS and identity stack (Okta, Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, MDM, hardware) and represent IT in high-stakes moments: executive support, terminations, sensitive offboardings.

Drive Operational Programs: You own a major operational program like Day 1 onboarding, executive support, or M&A integration support. These are the programs that determine whether IT scales with the company.

Eliminate Failure Patterns: You identify recurring issues, automation candidates, and process gaps. You partner with Automation Engineers to ship durable fixes instead of running the same playbook every quarter.

Multiply the Team: You serve as an escalation point and mentor for E2/E3 engineers, set the bar for customer interactions and operational discipline, and build automations that help the team beyond your direct reach.

Partner Across the Business: You work closely with Security on access reviews and incident response, with People on the employee lifecycle, and with Finance and ELT on executive support and compliance.

About You

The Domain: You have deep hands-on experience across the SaaS and identity stack at scale: Okta, Jamf, Intune, Atlassian (Jira), Slack, Zoom, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Box, 1Password, and DocuSign. You are proficient in conference-room AV (Crestron, Q-SYS, LogiSync, Zoom Rooms) and physical access systems (Cisco Meraki cameras, Brivo). You understand identity and the security implications of access changes.

Customer Instinct: You are calm under pressure, empathetic with frustrated users, and professional in high-stakes situations. You turn bad experiences into trust.

Operational Discipline: You document your work. You follow change management. You do not make unilateral changes to security or identity settings. You verify before you close a ticket.

Leadership: You lead through influence, not authority. You coach junior teammates, share knowledge proactively, and raise the team’s bar through how you work.

Modern Tooling: You use modern tooling and AI including Claude as a routine part of your work. You use AI assisted workflows to draft runbooks, debug issues, and accelerate resolutions spending more of your time on high-leverage, unconventional problems that automation can’t solve. You build automations that help your projects and the teammates you mentor. You treat AI and automation as a default, not an afterthought.

Experience: We recommend 5-7 years of IT support, helpdesk, or technical operations experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role at a fast-growing or recently-acquired company.

Salary

Carta’s compensation package includes a market competitive salary, equity for all full time roles, exceptional benefits, and, for applicable roles, commissions plans. Our minimum cash compensation (salary + commission if applicable) range for this role is:

 $136,000-$160,000 in San Francisco, CA
