We’re a high-performing, fast-moving team with ethics at the center of everything we do. Expectations are high, and so are the rewards.

We're looking for a Senior Product Designer to help shape the future of our decentralized finance experiences. DeFi is one of the most complex and rapidly evolving spaces in crypto, and the design problems we're solving don't always have strong precedents.

You'll drive product vision and execution across DeFi initiatives— Robinhood Chain, Robinhood Wallet, and more— working closely with product, engineering, legal and compliance and other cross-functional partners to ship best-in-class experiences.

  • Active use of AI in your design workflow
  • Solid systems thinking, balancing detail with the big picture
  • Experience partnering with engineering, product, research, legal, and compliance in a highly regulated environment
  • Deep crypto knowledge— experience isn’t required, but fluency is

Senior Staff Software Engineer, Core Infrastructure

RobinhoodBellevue, WA
Full-timeNot specifiedAug 21, 2026

Join us in building the future of finance.

Our mission is to democratize finance for all. An estimated $124 trillion of assets will be inherited by younger generations in the next two decades. The largest transfer of wealth in human history. If you’re ready to be at the epicenter of this historic cultural and financial shift, keep reading.

About the team + role

We are building an elite team, applying frontier technologies to the world's biggest financial problems. We're looking for bold thinkers. Sharp problem-solvers. Builders who are wired to make an impact. Robinhood isn't a place for complacency, it's where ambitious people do the best work of their careers. We're a high-performing, fast-moving team with ethics at the center of everything we do. Expectations are high, and so are the rewards.

The Core Infrastructure team's mission is to build and evolve the foundational platform that every Robinhood engineering team builds on — owning the systems, primitives, and developer-facing abstractions that power 24/7 trading, crypto, and global expansion. We treat infrastructure as a product: reliable, fast to provision, and invisible to the teams above it.

As a Senior Staff Software Engineer on Core Infrastructure, you will own the architectural evolution of three deeply interconnected domains: service mesh and connectivity, compute platform, and infrastructure provisioning. Your decisions will directly shape engineering velocity, operational reliability, and Robinhood's ability to expand to new regions and markets. This is not an operations role — it's a once-in-a-platform-lifecycle opportunity to redesign the foundation before complexity becomes permanent!

This role is based in our Bellevue, WA office, with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week.

At Robinhood, we believe in the power of in-person work to accelerate progress, spark innovation, and strengthen community. Our office experience is intentional, energizing, and designed to fully support high-performing teams.

What you'll do

  • Own service mesh architecture end-to-end — standardize and evolve Robinhood's Istio and Envoy deployment, eliminate deprecated communication patterns, and build the networking foundation for multi-region operation
  • Drive Kubernetes compute platform evolution — define the long-term direction for cluster lifecycle, scheduling strategy, control plane architecture, and multi-region resiliency across Robinhood's entire compute fleet
  • Redesign infrastructure provisioning — transform Terraform from a collection of ad-hoc configurations into a scalable, self-service platform capability that enables rapid region provisioning and developer autonomy
  • Operate with source-level depth — diagnose and resolve issues at the Kubernetes API machinery, etcd, Envoy xDS, and Terraform provider layer, and contribute upstream where it serves the platform
  • Define technical direction across teams — produce architecture proposals, lead design reviews, and drive cross-functional alignment on infrastructure decisions that affect every engineering organization at Robinhood

What you bring

  • Deep, hands-on expertise with Kubernetes internals — API server, controller reconciliation, etcd watch propagation, scheduler mechanics, and admission control
  • Deep working knowledge of Istio and/or Envoy at the source code level — including the xDS API as a protocol; experience debugging at the control-plane/data-plane boundary
  • HTTP/2 and gRPC wire-level knowledge — connection management, flow control, stream multiplexing, and observability
  • Terraform at architectural scale — module design patterns, provider internals, remote state management, and multi-region provisioning
  • Production Go or Python for infrastructure tooling; strong fundamentals in writing well-structured, tested, operationally sound code
  • Proven ability to drive cross-functional architectural change across large or complex engineering organizations — influencing without authority and shipping durable decisions

What we offer

  • Challenging, high-impact work to grow your career
  • Performance driven compensation with multipliers for outsized impact, bonus programs, and equity ownership
  • Top tier benefits to fuel your work, including supplemental health insurance, ancillary insurance, and mental health support programs

As a Senior Staff Software Developer on Core Infrastructure, you will own the architectural evolution of three deeply interconnected domains: service mesh and connectivity, compute platform, and infrastructure provisioning. Your decisions will directly shape engineering velocity, operational reliability, and Robinhood's ability to expand to new regions and markets. This is not an operations role — it's a once-in-a-platform-lifecycle opportunity to redesign the foundation before complexity becomes permanent!

This role is based in our Toronto, ON office, with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week.

  • Access to the best AI tools on the market and continuous AI skill-building for every employee, technical or not
  • Lifestyle wallet — a highly flexible employer-paid benefits spending account for expenses beyond traditional benefits such as wellness, childcare, learning, and more
  • Time off to recharge including company holidays, paid time off, sick time, paid volunteer time off, parental leave, and more!
  • Exceptional office experience with catered meals, events, and comfortable workspaces
  • Monthly commuter stipend to help offset in-office commuting costs

Senior Applications Engineer, Enterprise Build

RobinhoodMenlo Park, CA
Full-timeNot specifiedAug 21, 2026

Join us in building the future of finance.

Our mission is to democratize finance for all. An estimated $124 trillion of assets will be inherited by younger generations in the next two decades. The largest transfer of wealth in human history. If you’re ready to be at the epicenter of this historic cultural and financial shift, keep reading.

About the team + role

We are building an elite team, applying frontier technologies to the world’s biggest financial problems. We’re looking for bold thinkers. Sharp problem-solvers. Builders who are wired to make an impact. Robinhood isn’t a place for complacency, it’s where ambitious people do the best work of their careers. We’re a high-performing, fast-moving team with ethics at the center of everything we do. Expectations are high, and so are the rewards.

Robinhood is seeking a Senior Applications Engineer to join Enterprise Build, the small, high-leverage team that turns the company's best AI-built prototypes into true enterprise-grade services. Robinhood's corporate ecosystem is deep, Okta identity, Google Workspace, Slack, ServiceNow, Atlassian, Salesforce, and the agent fabric that makes all of it agent-accessible. When a prototype graduates into a real service, someone has to make it a native citizen of that ecosystem: single sign-on and access done right, provisioning and audit wired in, data flowing to and from the systems of record, surfaces appearing where people already work. That someone is you.

You will own the front of the pipeline: when prototypes arrive at the team's intake, you perform the rapid technical assessment, what data it touches, what systems it needs, what would break, that determines whether it self-serves in the sandbox, becomes a Build engagement, or is better bought than built. You’ll partner with the team's SWEs, who rebuild prototypes from the ground up into production services. You determine how everything connects, with breadth across enterprise surfaces, and you personally deliver the many ‘graduations’ that are 80% integration, configuration, and workflow automation with 20% glue code, where a ground-up rebuild isn’t needed. Between builds, your intake assessments shape what the whole team does next.

Robinhood operates in a heavily regulated industry: ambiguity is constant, playbooks are yours to write, and safe-by-default is the house style.

This role is based in our Menlo Park, CA office, with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week.

At Robinhood, we believe in the power of in-person work to accelerate progress, spark innovation, and strengthen community. Our office experience is intentional, energizing, and designed to fully support high-performing teams.

What You'll Do

  • Own intake assessment for the graduation pipeline: rapidly evaluate incoming prototypes, data classification, system touchpoints, integration surface, risk flags, and recommend the disposition: sandbox, build, or buy.
  • Make graduated services native to the enterprise: SSO and access via Okta, SCIM provisioning, audit logging, and surfaces in Slack, Workspace, and ServiceNow where users already live.
  • Deliver integration-led graduations end-to-end where configuration, workflow automation, and targeted glue code beat a ground-up rebuild.
  • Build and maintain the MCP integrations and automations that connect Build's services to Robinhood's SaaS estate, and make them agent-accessible by default.
  • Work directly with business partners to map their real workflow before anything is built, and stay their translator throughout the engagement.
  • Partner with Enterprise Platforms on the identity and application-onboarding paved road, and with Enterprise Operations on clean operational handoffs.
  • Apply approved AI tools relentlessly to your own work: automate the repetitive parts of assessment, integration, and documentation so your time goes to judgment.

What We're Looking For

  • Hands-on experience across a modern enterprise SaaS estate, Okta (identity, SSO, lifecycle), Google Workspace, Slack, ServiceNow, Atlassian, and with integration or workflow-automation platforms (e.g., Workato or similar).
  • Strong scripting and API fluency: Python or similar for glue code and automation, plus working depth in REST, webhooks, OAuth, and SCIM. You ship working integrations; you don't need to be a full-stack systems engineer, that's what your SWE teammates are for.
  • Proven ownership of at least one significant service or platform area as its domain expert, with sound decisions under medium-to-high ambiguity.
  • An assessor's eye: you can look at an unfamiliar app and quickly see what data it touches, what it depends on, and what it would take to run it safely.
  • Exceptional analytical and communication skills, you translate technical complexity into clear guidance for both executives and engineers.
  • Proven ability to work independently in high-ambiguity situations, define scope where there is none, and build trust across functions.
  • Experience in highly regulated industries, particularly finance or fintech, is strongly preferred.

What we offer

  • Challenging, high-impact work to grow your career.
  • Performance-driven compensation with multipliers for outsized impact, bonus programs, equity ownership, and 401(k) matching.
  • Best-in-class benefits to fuel your work, including 100% paid health insurance for employees with 90% coverage for dependents.
  • Lifestyle wallet — a highly flexible benefits spending account for wellness, learning, and more.
  • Employer-paid life & disability insurance, fertility benefits, and mental health benefits.
  • Time off to recharge including company holidays, paid time off, sick time, parental leave, and more!
  • Exceptional office experience with catered meals, events, and comfortable workspaces.

In addition to the base pay range listed below, this role is also eligible for bonus opportunities + equity + benefits.

Senior Software Engineer, Enterprise Build

Robinhood is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Enterprise Build team: the small, high-leverage team that turns the company's best AI-built prototypes into true enterprise-grade services. Robinhood has gone all-in on an AI-accelerated workforce: every week, Hoodies across Finance, HR, Legal, Compliance, and beyond use sanctioned AI tools to build working prototypes of the tools they wish they had. The best of those ideas deserve to become real software. That is this team's entire job, and yours.

The team is built on the premise that AI multiplies what a senior engineer can own: agents do the first pass of assessment, porting, and scaffolding; you review, harden, and decide. The work is a distinctive loop.  A prototype earns real usage in our experimental sandbox and arrives through a single front door. You assess it, decide what survives, often the idea and the workflow, rarely the code, and rebuild it as an enterprise-grade, production-spec service that meets our full engineering standards: SSO, audit logging, secrets management, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and security review, baked in from the first commit. While you build, you work directly with business partners, the forward-deployed pattern, pointed inward. Robinhood operates in a heavily regulated industry. Building fast here means building safely, and this team exists to help make sure those aren't in tension.

  • Assess vibe-coded prototypes from across the company and make the technical call: harden, rebuild, or redirect, then own the outcome end-to-end.
  • Design, build, and ship services on Robinhood's enterprise platforms, meeting the company's full standards for secure, reliable enterprise software.
  • Build AI-natively: drive agents through first-pass assessment, porting, and test scaffolding, and ship MCP servers, sub-agents, and agent skills as production artifacts where the solution calls for them.
  • Work directly with sponsoring business units (Finance, HR, Legal, Compliance) during each build, translating real workflows into software people actually adopt.
  • Deliver clean operational handoffs as part of your definition of done: runbooks, evals, and dashboards.
  • Establish the paved patterns with the Enterprise Platforms team: when you solve the same problem twice, make it a platform capability the third time.
  • Raise the bar on AI-era engineering quality, including rigorous, teaching-quality review of AI-generated code, your own and others'.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience building and running production backend or full-stack systems, with a track record of independently delivering high-ambiguity projects end-to-end.
  • Hands-on cloud depth, GCP preferred, including containerized services, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code, with a strong focus on a serverless stack.
  • Demonstrated AI-native development: daily fluency with agentic coding tools, experience building LLM-powered applications or agentic workflows, and the judgment to review, harden, and productionize AI-generated code.
  • Product sense and scoping discipline: you can find the 20% of a prototype worth keeping, say no to the rest, and finish, this team's leverage depends on engagements that end.
  • Exceptional communication with non-engineers: you're comfortable embedded with finance, legal, or HR partners, translating in both directions without losing precision.

Staff Product Manager- Integrations & Advisor Platform

RobinhoodClearwater, FL; Menlo Park, CA; New York, NY
Full-timeNot specifiedAug 21, 2026

Join us in building the future of finance.

Our mission is to democratize finance for all. An estimated $124 trillion of assets will be inherited by younger generations in the next two decades. The largest transfer of wealth in human history. If you’re ready to be at the epicenter of this historic cultural and financial shift, keep reading.

About the Team

We are building an elite team, applying frontier technologies to the world’s biggest financial problems. We’re looking for bold thinkers. Sharp problem-solvers. Builders who are wired to make an impact. Robinhood isn’t a place for complacency, it’s where ambitious people do the best work of their careers. We’re a high-performing, fast-moving team with ethics at the center of everything we do. Expectations are high, and so are the rewards.

TradePMR is Robinhood's custody and technology platform for registered investment advisors. We're in the middle of one of the most ambitious builds in Robinhood's history: building a next-generation custody platform that lets advisors work seamlessly across custodians, with AI-native insights, digital onboarding, and access to cutting-edge, first-of-a-kind asset classes — delivered as cohesive platform. A core part of this vision is bringing the same intuitive, retail-grade tools and experiences Robinhood has built for individual investors to financial advisors and the clients they serve.

The advisors we serve are growth-oriented, multicustodial RIAs, and they run their practices on a stack of portfolio management, CRM, financial planning, and increasingly AI-native tools. Our job is to make TradePMR the easiest, most modern custodian in that stack to build and work with — foundational APIs today, and an increasingly partner-first platform as the industry moves toward agentic, AI-driven advisor workflows tomorrow.

This role sits at the center of that effort: part outward-facing partner/advisor advocate, part technical product owner for our integration platform.

This role is based in our  Clearwater, Fl, Menlo Park, CA and New York, NY offices, with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week.

At Robinhood, we believe in the power of in-person work to accelerate progress, spark innovation, and strengthen community. Our office experience is intentional, energizing, and designed to fully support high-performing teams.

What You'll Do:

  •  Own our third-party integration strategy end-to-end — from prioritizing and scoping which APIs and connectivity we build (including emerging AI-agent standards like MCP) to defining the sandbox, documentation, authentication, and governance that make us easy to integrate with.
  • Be the primary, outward-facing product owner for our technology-partner ecosystem — leading commercial and technical conversations with PMS/CRM vendors and AI-native advisor tools, scoping statements of work, setting production-access requirements, and representing Robinhood at industry events and with key RIA-industry influencers.
  • Build and run the framework for how we tier, prioritize, and resource integration requests across dozens of vendors and advisor firms at once — balancing large-firm strategic bets against overall platform coherence and engineering capacity.
  • Partner closely with engineering to translate advisor and partner needs into technical requirements and make the build-vs-partner-vs-defer calls — comfortable reading an API spec or discussing an SSO/OAuth flow directly with a partner's engineering team.
  • Develop a clear point of view on how AI and agentic workflows are changing custodial integrations
  • Represent the integrations function in Robinhood's broader next-generation custody roadmap, working closely with cross-functional partners across product, engineering, and operations to keep near-term integration work aligned with our long-term vision for advisor-facing custody.

What you bring:

  •  6+ years of product management experience, with a meaningful portion spent in a technical, platform, or API/integrations-focused PM role.
  • Experience working at a high-growth fintech company, with a track record of navigating the regulatory, compliance, and legacy-system realities that shape technical integration work in financial services.
  • A strong, informed point of view on how AI is reshaping fintech and advisor workflows — ideally backed by direct experience shipping AI-enabled features or evaluating AI-native vendors and partners.
  • Genuinely technical and a proven builder — comfortable as the primary point of contact with external partner engineering teams, able to reason through API design, auth (SSO/SAML/OAuth), and data models, with a track record of shipping developer-facing platform capabilities (documentation, sandboxes, versioning) in a regulated or enterprise B2B environment.
  • Experience running a partner or vendor ecosystem: prioritization frameworks, SOWs/contracts, production-access gating, and managing a portfolio of integrations at very different maturity stages at the same time.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication — you can flex between a technical design conversation with engineering and a strategic partnership conversation with an executive or advisor.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity: this role is being created by combining two existing scopes into one, and part of the job is defining what "great" looks like as you go.
  • Bonus Points
    • Experience in wealth management, RIA custody, or advisor technology, or working with custodial/clearing operations (e.g., First Clearing, Schwab, Fidelity).
    • Experience building or scaling a formal integration/partner program (tiering, vendor onboarding, developer portal) from a relatively early stage.

Senior Compensation Analyst

RobinhoodChicago, IL; Menlo Park, CA; New York, NY
Full-timeNot specifiedAug 18, 2026

Robinhood is on a mission to democratize finance for all — lowering barriers and expanding access so everyone can participate in the markets. Since our 2015 launch we've grown into one of the fastest-scaling brokerages ever, and that growth depends on hiring and keeping exceptional people. The Compensation team designs the programs that help Robinhood attract, motivate, and keep that talent as the company scales.

As a Senior Compensation Analyst, you'll own compensation analytics and the systems behind our broad-based base pay and variable comp programs. You'll build the models that drive pay decisions, run the tooling and workflows the People and Recruiting teams depend on, and use automation and AI to improve operations and enhance user experience. You'll operate across analysis, systems, and program execution — and have real ownership from day one.

This role is based in our Menlo Park, CA; New York, NY; or Chicago, IL office(s), with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week.

At Robinhood, we believe in the power of in-person work to accelerate progress, spark innovation, and strengthen community. Our office experience is intentional, energizing, and designed to fully support high-performing teams.

What you’ll do

  • Build and maintain compensation models. You'll develop scalable models that support market benchmarking, budget planning, scenario analysis, and data reconciliation, delivering data-driven insights that inform compensation strategy and business decisions.
  • Lead compensation analytics. You'll drive survey participation, job matching, market pricing, and trend analyses to evaluate pay competitiveness and inform salary structures, equity bands, and compensation recommendations across global markets.
  • Design and maintain reporting and trackers. You'll create and maintain compensation trackers, dashboards, and budgets, delivering accurate, timely reporting that stakeholders can rely on.
  • Administer broad-based compensation. You'll support annual merit, promotion, and variable/incentive compensation cycles end to end, including planning, modeling, award generation, payroll/equity reconciliation, and post-cycle analysis.
  • Build and improve compensation systems. You'll maintain and enhance the compensation tooling, job catalog, and databases used by the People and Recruiting teams, and design automations that reduce manual work and error.
  • Support M&A integration. You'll provide compensation analysis and support for mergers and acquisitions, including due diligence, harmonizing pay structures, and integrating acquired employees into Robinhood's programs.
  • Further AI and automation across the function. You'll use AI and modern tooling to enhance and streamline benchmarking, analysis, communications, and reporting, making processes faster and more accurate.
  • Partner cross-functionally. You'll work with People Partners, HRIS, Finance, and Legal on year-round initiatives and ad-hoc analyses, ensuring clean data flows and clear communication.

What you bring

  • 5+ years of compensation experience in a fast-paced, high-ambiguity environment (e.g., pricing new roles without an established benchmark)
  • Advanced Excel/Google Sheets modeling with large datasets, with an emphasis on dynamic, QA'd models
  • Demonstrated market pricing and benchmarking experience (e.g., Radford, Pave, Mercer), including building and maintaining salary structures and equity bands
  • Fluency with AI tools and a bias for automating analytical work
  • Experience administering broad-based and variable/incentive compensation
  • Clear communication — you turn complex analysis into actionable recommendations
  • Sharp attention to detail, sound judgment with sensitive data, and strong ownership
  • Experience with HRIS/compensation systems (e.g., Workday) a plus

What we offer

  • Challenging, high-impact work to grow your career.
  • Performance-driven compensation with multipliers for outsized impact, bonus programs, equity ownership, and 401(k) matching.
  • Best-in-class benefits to fuel your work, including 100% paid health insurance for employees with 90% coverage for dependents.
  • Lifestyle wallet — a highly flexible benefits spending account for wellness, learning, and more.
  • Employer-paid life & disability insurance, fertility benefits, and mental health benefits.

Staff Software Engineer, Observability

RobinhoodMenlo Park, CA
Full-timeNot specifiedAug 15, 2026

The Observability team's mission is to build and own Robinhood's full-stack observability platform — the foundation that keeps every product, service, and customer experience running reliably at scale. We design and operate the systems that give engineers deep visibility into how Robinhood's infrastructure behaves, ensuring that when something goes wrong, the right people know immediately and can act fast. Our work spans metrics, logs, distributed tracing, and alerting pipelines, and we partner closely with the Robinhood Command Center to ensure our observability systems meet or exceed 99.9% uptime. We believe in monitoring our own monitors — the observability infrastructure is a product, not just a tool.

As a Staff Software Engineer on the Observability team, you will be the technical lead shaping the roadmap for how Robinhood observes itself at scale. You will own the observability control plane end-to-end, making architectural decisions that directly impact the reliability and operational health of Robinhood's entire product surface. You'll lead a team of six engineers, drive the strategy for cost-efficient telemetry ingestion, build in-house solutions where off-the-shelf tooling falls short, and integrate AI-driven approaches to accelerate progress toward full-stack observability. This is a high-ownership, high-visibility role where your technical decisions set the direction for the entire organization!

  • Define and execute the full-stack observability roadmap, establishing a clear technical vision for metrics, logs, traces, and alerting infrastructure across Robinhood's engineering organization.
  • Own and evolve the observability control plane, including telemetry ingestion pipelines, cost management strategies, and the tooling that ensures observability components remain highly available.
  • Lead and collaborate with a team of six engineers to build scalable, self-service observability solutions that enable product and infrastructure teams to move faster with greater confidence.
  • Establish and maintain SLOs for observability systems that meet or exceed Robinhood's 99.9% uptime target, ensuring the observability platform is as reliable as the services it monitors.
  • Partner with the Robinhood Command Center and engineering teams across the organization to align on dependency mapping, incident response workflows, and observability standards.

What you bring

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience, with a proven track record of owning and delivering large-scale observability or infrastructure platform initiatives.
  • Deep expertise in Kubernetes and public cloud environments (AWS preferred), with the ability to architect and operate distributed systems at scale regardless of specific vendor tooling.
  • Strong coding proficiency in one or more languages (Go, Python, or similar) with experience integrating observability agents, libraries, and instrumentation directly into production codebases.
  • Demonstrated experience owning an observability control plane or telemetry pipeline — including ingestion cost management, cardinality control, and signal routing — in a high-traffic production environment.
  • Experience with the Vector data pipeline (or equivalent high-throughput log/metrics routing tools) and familiarity with tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Honeycomb, Humio, or Sentry is a plus.

What we offer

  • Challenging, high-impact work to grow your career
  • Performance driven compensation with multipliers for outsized impact, bonus programs, equity ownership, and 401(k) matching
  • Top Tier benefits to fuel your work, including 100% paid health insurance for employees with 90% coverage for dependents
  • Access to the best AI tools on the market and continuous AI skill-building for every employee, technical or not
  • Lifestyle wallet - a highly flexible benefits spending account for wellness, learning, and more
  • Employer-paid life & disability insurance, fertility benefits, and mental health benefits
  • Time off to recharge including company holidays, paid time off, sick time, parental leave, and more!

The AI R&D team is at the core of Robinhood's product intelligence. Our mission is to build and scale high-impact models that power personalization, search, social feeds, fraud detection, and risk management for millions of Robinhood users. We operate as a cross-functional partner to growth, product, and data engineering—translating complex financial data into intelligent systems that make Robinhood smarter for every customer.

We move fast, raise the bar, and care deeply about building things that matter. If you've ever wanted to solve personalization problems no one else has cracked—in one of the most data-rich, regulated industries on the planet—this is the team for you!

As a Staff Machine Learning Engineer on the AI R&D team, you will own the design and delivery of sophisticated personalization and recommendation systems that directly shape what millions of users see and do on the Robinhood platform. You'll be a technical anchor on a growing, high-caliber team — collaborating with product, data engineering, and fellow ML engineers to take ambitious ideas from zero to one and into production at scale. You'll help define the team's technical direction, mentor engineers, and push the frontier of what's possible when you apply modern ML — including agentic workflows and LLM fine-tuning — to real financial data. This role offers a rare combination of technical depth, product impact, and the satisfaction of building systems that genuinely don't exist anywhere else.

This role is based in our Menlo Park, CA and Bellevue, WA offices, with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week.

At Robinhood, we believe in the power of in-person work to accelerate progress, spark innovation, and strengthen community. Our office experience is intentional, energizing, and designed to fully support high-performing teams.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Design, build, and ship end-to-end personalization, ranking, and recommendation systems that power core Robinhood products including growth, social feeds, and search — handling the full ML lifecycle from feature engineering through model deployment and monitoring.
  • Partner closely with product, data engineering, and platform teams to define technical strategy, scope complex projects, and drive execution across multiple workstreams simultaneously.
  • Lead zero-to-one development of new ML capabilities — prototyping, iterating, and scaling models in a high-stakes fintech environment where data quality and regulatory constraints are first-class concerns.
  • Evaluate, experiment with, and integrate modern AI paradigms including agentic workflows and LLM fine-tuning into existing ML systems, pushing the team's technical capabilities forward.
  • Set the technical bar through architecture reviews, code reviews, and mentorship — helping to elevate the craft and velocity of the broader AI R&D team.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • 10+ years of experience as a Machine Learning Engineer, with a strong foundation in ML fundamentals (ranking, recommendation systems, deep learning, optimization) and a track record of shipping models to production at scale.
  • Demonstrated expertise in personalization and recommendation systems — specifically, experience owning these systems end-to-end in a high-traffic, data-rich environment (fintech, e-commerce, social, or equivalent).
  • Proven ability to deliver projects from zero to one: you've taken ambiguous, high-impact problems and built production-grade solutions with measurable results.
  • Exposure to or hands-on experience with agentic systems, LLM fine-tuning, or other modern AI paradigms — and the technical judgment to know when (and when not) to apply them.
  • A Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience; strong coding skills in Python and familiarity with ML infrastructure tooling.

As a Senior Backend Engineer on this team, you'll work on the infrastructure behind crypto processing, wallet and key management workflows, and our integrations with third-party custodians. Most of what you'll build sits at the boundary between infrastructure and security.

This role is based in our Ljubljana, Slovenia office, with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week. At Robinhood, we believe in the power of in-person work to accelerate progress, spark innovation, and strengthen community. Our office experience is intentional, energizing, and designed to fully support high-performing teams.

Requires participation in an on-call rotation to support business needs.

What you’ll do

  • Build and run the AWS infrastructure behind custody, key management, and blockchain node operations.

  • Automate infrastructure and configuration management (Ansible, Terraform, or similar) so the team spends less time on manual operations.

  • Run our blockchain nodes across the networks we support, and keep them healthy and available.

  • Write and maintain services in Python for infrastructure management and wallet operations.

  • Own the integrations with third-party custodians.

  • Build out Kubernetes and Docker deployments as we containerize more of the custody stack.

  • Set up monitoring and alerting (Prometheus, Grafana, or equivalent) so we know about problems before customers do.

  • Apply security controls and standards throughout — access control, key management, incident response.

  • Provide on-call support, responding to and resolving production issues to keep custody systems reliable and available.

What you bring

  • Senior-level experience running cloud infrastructure (AWS) in production.

  • Experience managing blockchain nodes in production.

  • Hands-on experience with Ansible, Terraform, or similar configuration management and Infrastructure as Code tooling.

  • Experience running containerized workloads on Kubernetes and Docker.

  • Solid Python and/or Go skills, with real production experience.

  • A strong security focus — you've worked on systems where key management and access control are critical.

  • Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, or an equivalent monitoring stack.

Bonus points

  • Experience integrating with third-party custodians like BitGo or Fireblocks — this is a key differentiator for this role.

What we offer

  • Challenging, high-impact work to grow your career

  • Performance driven compensation with multipliers for outsized impact and bonus programs

  • Top tier benefits to fuel your work, including supplemental health insurance, ancillary insurance, and mental health support programs

  • Access to the best AI tools on the market and continuous AI skill-building for every employee, technical or not

  • Lifestyle wallet - a highly flexible employer-paid benefits spending account expenses beyond traditional benefits such as wellness, childcare, learning, and more.

  • Time off to recharge including company holidays, paid time off, sick time, paid volunteer time off, parental leave, and more!

  • Exceptional office experience with catered meals, events, and comfortable workspaces.

  • Monthly commuter stipend to help offset in-office commuting costs
