The fintech companies worth considering for career growth are those whose live postings show a wide range of functions, a visible seniority ladder and a way in at the bottom, and the employers that stand out differ by signal. As of 20 October 2026, Finjobsly tracked 4,182 live roles at 36 fintech employers. Stripe, Brex, Adyen, Coinbase and Checkout.com advertise at least three roles in each of ten role families, Nubank, Gusto, Fireblocks and Tide have the highest share of Lead-to-Executive roles among employers with 20 or more roles, and Toast, Stripe, Coinbase and Checkout.com hold 168 of the 336 Junior and Internship roles. This guide sets out the signals and who shows them. It is not a ranking.
\nKey findings
- Finjobsly tracked 4,182 live roles at 36 employers on 20 October 2026. Of those employers, 34 have 20 or more live roles and are assessed here. The other two (Wise and Ledger) have 17 or fewer.
- Breadth: Stripe (775 roles), Brex (261), Adyen (243), Coinbase (225) and Checkout.com (172) each advertise three or more roles in all ten role families. Block, Affirm and Ramp advertise nine, and Monzo (68 roles) and SoFi (51) advertise eight, so breadth is not only a function of size.
- Ladder depth: Affirm advertises all ten seniority levels in the data, and Coinbase, Block, Ramp, Tide and Nubank advertise nine. Among the 34 employers, the share of roles at Lead, Staff, Principal, Director, VP or Executive level ranges from 2% (Mollie) to 50% (Nubank), against 25% for the whole panel.
- Early-career pipeline: 336 of 4,124 roles with a recorded seniority level (8.1%) are Junior or Internship. Toast (56), Stripe (53), Coinbase (34) and Checkout.com (25) hold 168 of them (50%). Coinbase and Stripe together list 42 of the 74 internships.
- Two employers publish their own growth figures that we verified on 1 October 2026: Monzo reports 15.2 million customers and 39% revenue growth in its 2026 annual report, and Stripe reports $1.9 trillion in 2025 volume, up 34%. Business growth does not guarantee career growth.
- Stripe holds 18.5% of all live roles in the panel, so panel-wide percentages partly describe Stripe. The employer-level signals below are not affected by that concentration.
What signals show whether a fintech company offers career growth?
No dataset measures promotion speed or manager quality, so this guide uses signals that can be observed from public job postings, plus employer-published growth figures where we could verify them. Each signal has a limit.
- Hiring volume. How many live roles an employer has. High volume suggests many openings, not good conditions.
- Breadth of roles. The number of role families (of ten: engineering, sales and go-to-market, product and design, operations and support, risk, compliance and legal, marketing, finance, data and machine learning, people, and other) in which the employer has at least three live roles. Breadth suggests lateral moves between functions are possible.
- Seniority ladder. The number of distinct seniority levels advertised (of ten), and the share of roles at Lead, Staff, Principal, Director, VP or Executive level. A senior-heavy mix suggests senior positions exist, but can also mean the company mostly hires experienced people.
- Early-career pipeline. The count and share of Junior and Internship roles.
- Company-reported growth. Figures an employer publishes about itself, labelled as company-provided.
For signals about pay transparency and work style, see best fintech companies to work for in 2026. This guide deliberately does not repeat that analysis.
\nWhich fintech employers advertise the widest range of careers?
Five employers show at least three live roles in every one of the ten role families: Stripe, Brex, Adyen, Coinbase and Checkout.com. Block, Affirm and Ramp show nine. Gusto, Monzo, SoFi, Robinhood, Plaid, Tide and Ripple show eight. Toast and Mercury show seven. The pattern is partly scale: Stripe has 775 roles and Brex 261. But Checkout.com, with 172 roles, covers all ten families, and Monzo, with 68, and SoFi, with 51, cover eight, while Toast, with 335 roles, covers seven. At the other end, Fireblocks (26 roles) and Thought Machine (40) have three or more roles in only two families, and OakNorth (22) in three, though each has some roles in more families.
For a candidate, breadth matters most if you may want to change function. A company with only a handful of roles outside its core function offers fewer internal routes, at least in what it is advertising today.
\nWhich fintech employers show the deepest seniority ladders?
Ladder depth has two readings. The number of distinct levels advertised is highest at Affirm (all ten), then Coinbase, Block, Ramp, Tide and Nubank (nine). Stripe, Toast, Adyen, Gusto, Robinhood and OakNorth advertise eight. The share of roles at Lead, Staff, Principal, Director, VP or Executive level, using roles with a recorded seniority level as the denominator, is highest at Nubank (46 of 92, 50%), Gusto (46 of 95, 48%), Fireblocks (12 of 26, 46%), Tide (48 of 104, 46%) and OakNorth (10 of 22, 45%). It is lowest at Mollie (1 of 47, 2%), Checkout.com (12 of 167, 7%) and GoCardless (3 of 33, 9%).
Read these as hiring mixes. A high senior share means the employer is currently recruiting for senior and leadership positions, which suggests that such positions exist and that more experienced candidates have a route. A low share means openings are concentrated in the early and middle of the ladder, which is better for those still building experience and says nothing negative about progression. Across the panel, 24.8% of roles with a recorded level (1,024 of 4,124) are Lead or above, and 45.3% are Senior.
\nWhich fintech employers have an early-career pipeline?
Four employers account for half of Finjobsly's early-career roles. Toast lists 56 Junior roles (17% of the 331 with a recorded level), Stripe 53 (7% of 759), Coinbase 34 (15% of 225) and Checkout.com 25 (15% of 167). Coinbase has 26 internships and Stripe 16. Among smaller employers, Bitpanda (7 of 30, 23%), FloQast (8 of 38, 21%), Gemini (6 of 32, 19%), Mollie (8 of 47, 17%) and Qonto (7 of 43, 16%) have notable shares. Kraken, Chime, Ripple, SoFi and Thought Machine list none. Early-career counts are a snapshot of what is open today. Internship programmes in particular open and close by season.

\nWhat growth figures do fintech employers publish about themselves?
We checked employer newsrooms and annual reports for two tracked employers on 1 October 2026 and did not re-read them for this update. These are company-provided figures, not independent assessments, and they are not job-level evidence.
- Monzo. Its 2026 annual report reports 15.2 million customers (3 million added), revenue of £1.7 billion (up 39%) and 10.4 million monthly active users. Its 2026 diversity and inclusion report, published 14 May 2026, states the team has grown from 3,935 to 5,281 employees (up 34%). Finjobsly shows 68 live Monzo roles, with six seniority levels advertised and 22 of 68 at Lead or above.
- Stripe. Its 2025 annual letter announcement, dated 24 February 2026, states that businesses on Stripe generated $1.9 trillion in total volume in 2025, up 34% from 2024, and that a tender offer valued the company at $159 billion. The announcement does not give a headcount. Finjobsly shows 775 live Stripe roles, the highest in the panel.
Growth in a company's customers or revenue is a reasonable reason to expect new roles and senior positions, but it does not tell you whether the people in those roles progress. We did not find or verify comparable newsroom figures for the other tracked employers and make no claim about them.
\nHow do the 34 employers with 20 or more roles compare on each signal?
The table lists every tracked employer with 20 or more live roles in alphabetical order, which is deliberately not a ranking. Families is the number of the ten role families with at least three live roles. Levels is the number of the ten seniority levels advertised. Lead-and-above share uses roles with a recorded seniority level as the denominator.
| Employer | Live roles | Families (of 10) | Levels (of 10) | Lead-and-above share | Junior and intern roles |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Adyen | 243 | 10 | 8 | 20% | 6 |

| Ramp | 169 | 9 | 9 | 15% | 16 |
| Ripple | 101 | 8 | 7 | 39% | 0 |
| Robinhood | 153 | 8 | 8 | 29% | 13 |
| SoFi | 51 | 8 | 6 | 33% | 0 |
| Stripe | 775 | 10 | 8 | 23% | 53 |

| Wealthfront | 24 | 4 | 5 | 17% | 3 |
| Zopa | 39 | 5 | 5 | 23% | 2 |
Seniority is not recorded for every role: coverage is 4,124 of 4,182 across the panel, and employers with fewer roles are more sensitive to a handful of postings.
\nWhich fintech companies are worth considering for career growth?
Based on the signals above, these are companies worth a closer look for each type of career goal. They are grouped by signal, are not ordered, and rest on posting behaviour on 20 October 2026, not on employee experience.
- If you want to keep options open across functions: Stripe, Brex, Adyen, Coinbase and Checkout.com (ten of ten families), plus Block, Affirm and Ramp (nine).
- If you want a visible senior track: Nubank, Gusto, Fireblocks, Tide and OakNorth have the highest Lead-and-above shares, and Affirm advertises all ten seniority levels.
- If you are early in your career: Toast, Stripe, Coinbase and Checkout.com have the most Junior and Internship roles, and Bitpanda, FloQast and Gemini have higher shares at smaller scale.
- If you want to see a company-reported growth story: Monzo and Stripe both publish growth figures, and the figures above are theirs.
- Combining signals: Coinbase and Stripe appear in the top group on breadth and early-career counts, and Coinbase also advertises nine seniority levels. Affirm is in the top group on ladder levels and has a 35% Lead-and-above share but, at nine families, is just short on breadth.

\nWhat can these signals not tell you about career growth?
Posting data cannot show promotion rates, time to promotion, manager quality, internal mobility, pay progression or attrition. A broad, senior-heavy employer may also be a harder place to move up if its senior roles are filled externally. A narrow employer may promote quickly inside one function. Verify any shortlisted employer by asking about promotion criteria and internal-move rates in interviews, and by talking to people in the role.

\nMethodology
Source and scope. Finjobsly figures come from Finjobsly's jobs database, rows with status active, as of 20 October 2026: 4,182 live roles at 36 tracked employers. This panel is not the whole fintech market. Employer-level signals are computed for the 34 employers with 20 or more live roles. Figures are a single snapshot and make no claim about change over time. The panel has grown since the 1 October edition, so figures should not be compared with it.
Role families and breadth. Role families are assigned from job titles using one rule applied across Finjobsly articles, in this order: data and machine learning (data scientist, machine learning, data or analytics engineer, data and business analyst, BI, analytics, and fraud, risk or credit modelling titles), sales and go-to-market (sales, account executive, business development, SDR or BDR, partnerships, customer success, account management, solutions engineering), engineering (engineer, developer, software, SRE, DevOps, architect), product and design, risk, compliance and legal, marketing, finance, people, and operations and support. Titles that match none are counted as other. Title matching is imperfect, so a few roles may sit in a neighbouring family, and the boundaries of the smaller families (marketing, finance, people and operations) are the least precise, which can move an employer's breadth count by one. In this article, breadth is the number of the ten families (the nine named families plus other) in which an employer has at least three live roles.
Ladder and early career. Seniority is a classification recorded on 4,124 of 4,182 roles. Levels: Internship, Junior, Mid-Level, Senior, Lead, Staff, Principal, Director, VP and Executive. Lead-and-above means Lead, Staff, Principal, Director, VP or Executive. Early career means Junior or Internship. Percentages use roles with a recorded seniority level at that employer as the denominator. Counts for small employers are volatile.
External figures. Monzo figures are from Monzo's 2026 annual report and 2026 diversity and inclusion report. Stripe figures are from Stripe's 24 February 2026 newsroom post. All were fetched and read on 1 October 2026. They are company-provided and unaudited by Finjobsly, and the Monzo headcount period is as stated by Monzo.
Limitations. Stripe accounts for 775 of 4,182 roles (18.5%). Location, benefits and employee satisfaction data are not used, and international presence is not assessed because location fields are inconsistent. A role being advertised does not mean it will be filled.
