You’ll own the shared mobile app infrastructure – design system, networking, CI/CD, observability, release tooling, and the operational health (monitoring, on‑call playbooks) of the platform that every other mobile team builds on.
7+ years building mobile apps (4+ with React Native), strong JavaScript/TypeScript skills, hands‑on Expo and native module experience, familiarity with complex state (Redux Toolkit a plus), mobile testing/observability tools, AI‑assisted development, and a track record of leading large technical projects.
The platform you shape is the foundation for all of Affirm’s consumer‑facing mobile experiences, directly impacting product velocity, reliability, and the company’s ability to deliver “buy now, pay later” services at scale.
A senior engineer who thrives on ownership, enjoys cross‑team collaboration, can set long‑term technical strategy, and is comfortable driving large‑scale projects while mentoring others in a fast‑moving, remote‑first environment.
At Affirm, we exist for the moments that matter—giving people a clear, predictable way to pay over time, with no hidden fees, no surprises, and no tradeoffs on what matters most.
App Infrastructure is the team behind Affirm's shared mobile app infrastructure — the platform every other mobile feature team builds on. We own the app’s shared components: design system, networking, observability, experimentation, CI/CD, app releases, developer tooling, availability/stability, and more.
We care about ownership: shipping tools and runbooks other teams actually adopt, writing specs before building, and being the go to experts for the mobile tech stack . We're small, technical, and highly collaborative.
