You’ll own the end‑to‑end development and operation of the tips and earnings platform, driving design, implementation, testing, deployment, and reliability of systems that calculate and deliver pay to restaurant employees.
5+ years of back‑end experience in Java/Kotlin or similar, proficiency with modern web tech (React, TypeScript, REST/GraphQL), experience with databases, distributed/microservice systems, and production ownership, plus strong communication and a precision mindset.
The platform directly determines restaurant staff pay, impacting product revenue and employee satisfaction, making reliability and correctness critical to Toast’s mission of empowering restaurants.

The base salary range for this role is listed below. The starting salary will be determined based on skills, experience, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, our total rewards components include cash compensation (overtime, bonus/commissions if eligible), equity, and benefits.
