Design, build, and operate core data services—including cloud warehouses, data lakes, Airflow orchestration, Spark/SQL batch jobs, and Kafka streaming—plus SDKs, self‑service tooling, and services for security, observability, quality, cataloging and lineage, turning analyst and ML requests into reusable patterns.
5+ years of software engineering experience with senior‑level ownership, strong backend skills in Python, Go or Java, hands‑on work with data systems or pipelines, familiarity with scale‑out, caching, key/value and columnar storage patterns, and working knowledge of SQL and Airflow. Experience using generative AI responsibly is also mentioned.

The Data Platform team builds and operates systems that centralize all of Coinbase's internal and third-party data, so teams across the company can access, process, and transform it for analytics, machine learning, and end-user experiences. As a senior engineer, you will work across the full stack of our systems: foundational processing and storage, scalable pipelines, and the frameworks and internal tools that make data easy to use.
