You’ll own the day‑to‑day operations of Toast’s data governance program – maintaining the Data Domain Model, running the Governance Council, managing policy registers, and operating the Business Glossary and metadata standards in the data catalog.
5+ years in data governance or analytics, experience with frameworks like DAMA DMBOK, modern data‑stack tools (Snowflake, dbt), catalog platforms (DataHub, Alation, Atlan), and solid SQL skills; plus strong workshop facilitation and program‑management abilities.
Effective governance makes Toast’s data trustworthy, compliant, and discoverable, enabling every team – especially as AI becomes central – to make fast, confident decisions and meet audit and risk requirements.
A candidate who thrives on cross‑functional collaboration, enjoys running workshops, and has a bias toward execution and organization, able to manage multiple workstreams independently.

The Enterprise Data Solutions (EDS) team at Toast is on a mission to deliver a trusted, scalable, and governed data foundation that empowers every team at Toast to make decisions with speed and confidence. As Toast scales and AI becomes central to our product and operational strategy, EDS serves as the engine behind that ambition—building the infrastructure, governance frameworks, and data products every business function depends on.
As a Senior Data Governance Product Manager, you will be the primary operational executor within EDS's governance function. Reporting directly to the Director of Enterprise Data Governance, you will build and run the policies, processes, and programs that make Toast's data trustworthy, compliant, and discoverable every day.
This role is ideal for someone who is equally comfortable running a cross-functional workshop with business stakeholders and configuring metadata standards in a data catalog—combining strategic thinking with a strong bias toward execution.

The base salary range for this role is listed below. The starting salary will be determined based on skills, experience, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, our total rewards components include cash compensation (overtime, bonus/commissions if eligible), equity, and benefits.
