We are looking for a Senior Manager Business Audit | French Market to lead and support the internal audit activities of the N26 Group, with a focus on the French market and topics such as AML/AFC/KYC.

Our Internal Audit team manages the full audit cycle to ensure operational effectiveness, reliability, and compliance with all applicable policies and regulations.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to participate in strategic projects, develop detailed risk-based audit plans, and ensure compliance with professional and regulatory standards at the highest level.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead and support all internal business audit activities across the N26 Group, including external service providers and subsidiaries, with a primary focus on the N26 French branch and AML/AFC/KYC topics.
  • Prepare and manage the full audit cycle, including risk and control management regarding the effectiveness, reliability, and compliance of business operations.
  • Develop and update a comprehensive, risk-based annual audit plan across various business functions (such as Product, Customer Operations, Sales, Marketing, and Partnerships).
  • Draft detailed written internal audit reports and present findings and agreed action plans to the Executive Board and relevant committees.
  • Monitor and follow up on the timely remediation of audit findings and identified deficiencies within agreed timelines.
  • Contribute to key strategic projects, maintain internal audit policies, and supervise and review the work of junior team members to ensure successful delivery.

What you need to be successful:

Background:

  • A Bachelor's degree or a comparable successfully completed degree in accounting, finance, business administration, economics, or a related field.
  • At least 7 years of solid professional experience as an Internal Auditor in an international, regulated environment, preferably in a bank, another financial institution, or an audit firm.
  • Significant experience in risk controlling and in the validation of financial and non-financial risks, as well as profound knowledge of French banking, anti-money laundering (AML), and consumer protection regulations.

Skills:

  • Fluent English and French language skills; any other European language is a plus.
  • A deep understanding of operational and financial controls, online banking processes, retail products, european/french/german regulatory standards (e.g. DORA, EBA, MaRisk, CMF, Arrêté du 3 novembre 2014 relatif au contrôle interne) as well as banking IT systems.
  • Strong analytical skills, organizational talent, and pronounced communication and stakeholder management skills for cross-functional collaboration.
  • A strategic mindset combined with a high degree of integrity, independence in executing audit tasks, and a strong bias for action.
  • Confident use of audit tools, data analytics, and reporting systems; familiarity with agile methodologies is an advantage.

What’s in it for you:

  • Accelerate your career growth by joining one of Europe’s most talked about disruptors 🚀.
  • Employee benefits that range from a competitive personal development budget, work from home budget, discounts to fitness & wellness memberships, language apps and public transportation.
  • As an N26 employee you will have access to a Premium subscription on your personal N26 bank account. As well as subscriptions for friends and family members.
  • Additional day of annual leave for each year of service.
  • A high degree of autonomy and access to cutting edge technologies - all while working with a friendly team of peers of diverse nationalities, experiences, and backgrounds.
  • A relocation package with visa support for those who need it.
