The Global Payments Performance team’s mission is to help Stripe and its users reduce costs, optimize conversion, reduce fraud, and effectively respond to changes in the payments landscape. The Global Payments Performance team serves a critical role both in demonstrating thought leadership on challenging payment topics, and also partnering with our high-potential customers to set them up for long term success. We want a partnership with Stripe to be a competitive advantage for our customers, large and small, by providing them with best-in-class technology in concert with insightful and specific advice on how to harness this technology to achieve their business goals.  

 

The  Global Payments Performance team is responsible for leading data-driven discussions with existing and prospective customers on optimization strategies across a variety of areas including, card network costs, acceptance, fraud, and cross-border flows to start. 

What you’ll do

We are seeking a Manager to lead a team of high-performing Payments Performance Strategists who work closely with our Sales teams, deploying their knowledge to differentiate Stripe and win deals, and partner with Customer Success to ensure that customers are successful on Stripe. This position will cover the SEA and Greater China region. 

Responsibilities

  • Build and lead a team of Payment Performance Strategists across the SEA and Greater China region
  • Develop the long-term vision and strategy for a growing team, and scale day-to-day operations
  • Coach, mentor, and guide the team in developing its regional narrative and consultative approach
  • Develop relationships with regional and global leadership to ensure that the team is optimally placed to deliver value for Stripe and its users
  • Work cross-functionally within Stripe to provide expertise on major strategic initiatives
  • Engage directly with the leadership teams of our most strategic users as an executive sponsor or through Stripe’s executive briefings
  • Improve the quality of Stripe’s payments products through consultation with product and R&D teams
  • Increase user acquisition and user retention through direct user engagement, scaled workshops, and trainings
  • Accelerate the adoption of payments software and services products by advising on product development, assisting with GTM strategy, conducting trainings, and joining calls; and
  • Elevate Stripe’s reputation within the payments community by engaging with users, analysts and payments consultants.

Who you are

Minimum requirements

  • Strong management skills for planning and executing complex cross-functional projects
  • 10+ years of experience, with 3-5 years of people management experience, in Business Analytics, Business Operations, Finance & Strategy, Technical Account Management or Payment Strategy at a leading technology or payments company, or top Management Consulting firm 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English and Mandarin as the work will primarily involve interacting with customers from the SEA and Greater China region 
  • A proven ability to build strong collaborative working relationships with business partners. 
  • The ability to deal effectively with ambiguity and thrive in an unstructured, fast-moving environment.
  • A proven ability to be a self-starter capable of driving business re
  • Energy, enthusiasm, and passion for making customers successful
  • Ability to operate and execute in a highly ambiguous and fast-paced environment
  • Clear and personable communicator of technical concepts, both orally and in writing, to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Proven ability to operate in a collaborative cross-functional team environment, providing thought leadership to help drive consensus and reach key decisions
  • Strong analytical and project management skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Comprehensive knowledge of card network regulations, industry best practices for fraud management and local payment methods
  • Experience with AI tools, SQL, dashboard building, modeling, or reporting
  • Experience presenting data driven analyses to senior business leaders
