About this role

This is Adyen

Adyen provides payments, data, and financial products in a single solution for customers like Meta, Uber, H&M, and Microsoft - making us the financial technology platform of choice. At Adyen, everything we do is engineered for ambition.

For our teams, we create an environment with opportunities for our people to succeed, backed by the culture and support to ensure they are enabled to truly own their careers. We are motivated individuals who tackle unique technical challenges at scale and solve them as a team. Together, we deliver innovative and ethical solutions that help businesses achieve their ambitions faster.

We are seeking a strategic and technical Legal Innovation Specialist to join our Legal Strategy and Enablement team. In this role, you will help drive and scale the overarching strategy for legal technology, workflow automation, knowledge management, and AI-driven innovation across the global legal function. You will own the entire legal tech stack, integrating legal systems with enterprise platforms like CRMs, e-signature tools, and intake frameworks, while establishing scalable self-service portals, automating high-volume workflows, building data analytics dashboards, and deploying AI tools (e.g. Wordsmith, Ask Legal, NotebookLM, Claude, and custom AI playbooks). Serving as a bridge between Legal and global business teams, you will lead complex technical implementations, transform legal service delivery, and maximize commercial velocity globally.

The Global Legal team is centered in Amsterdam, New York, San Francisco, and Singapore. However, as Adyen is a global company with offices, entities, and boards all over the world, you will be required to apply your knowledge globally.

What you will do:

  • Legal Tech Stack Strategy & Architecture: Lead the administration, roadmap, and enhancement of key legal platforms (including CLMs, e-Signature/DocuSign, repository systems, and intake tools) and oversee seamless integrations with broader enterprise platforms.
  • Knowledge Management & Portal Architecture: Architect, build, and maintain centralized, self-service knowledge portals and smart resource hubs (e.g. Ask Legal, Confluence, internal playbooks, FAQs) for global legal and business inquiries.
  • Process Optimization & Workflow Automation: Map, optimize, and automate end-to-end legal workflows, contract lifecycles, standardized guidance, and intake triage to eliminate operational bottlenecks and ensure global consistency.
  • AI Innovation, Implementation & Enablement: Evaluate, pilot, and deploy advanced AI solutions (e.g. automated redlining, contract metadata extraction, prompt engineering, custom AI playbooks) and lead change management, training, and adoption for tools like Wordsmith, Claude, Google Workspace/Gemini, and NotebookLM.
  • Data Analytics, Dashboarding & Continuous Improvement: Design, build, and report on comprehensive KPI dashboards for leadership, tracking process cycle times, portal usage, and contract turnaround times to deliver actionable strategic insights.
  • Vendor & Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner with Commercial Legal, Tech, and business stakeholders while managing strategic technical relationships with vendors, evaluating new tools, handling user permissions, and ensuring system uptime, security, and data governance.

What they're looking for

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in Legal Operations, with a strong emphasis on technology strategy, AI implementation, systems engineering, or technical product management in a legal context.
  • Proven track record of executing complex technical implementations and scaling global legal enablement, knowledge management, and intake systems.
  • Hands-on experience administering and integrating enterprise legal technologies, including CLM systems, e-signature tools, CRM platforms, and workflow automation engines.
  • Deep familiarity and hands-on technical proficiency with AI tools, prompt engineering, playbook configuration, and metadata extraction (e.g., Wordsmith, Ask Legal, NotebookLM, Claude, Google Workspace/Gemini).
  • Strong expertise in data analytics, visualization, and building KPI dashboards to measure operational impact.
  • Technical problem-solving mindset with solid knowledge of legal data privacy, security, and governance standards.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced technology environment with a proven ability to prioritize, lead change management, and solve problems proactively.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to translate complex legal and technical concepts into actionable strategies.
