Tax Accountant

Adyen is looking for a Tax Accountant to join Group Finance in Amsterdam. As a Tax Accountant, you will be primarily focussed on ensuring accurate GL accounting of direct and indirect taxes. You will interact and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders in order to support our continued business growth in a scalable, controlled and compliant way. The ideal candidate takes ownership and has a drive to understand these and is able to tie this back to where we’re heading as a Group globally. 

Being part of the centralized Finance Operations team in Amsterdam means you’ll be working in the (financial) engine room of a registered and listed financial institution; being part of a relatively small team means you’ll be (in)directly involved in a lot of very interesting topics that reach beyond the tax borders. 

What you’ll do

  • Ensuring adherence to accounting and taxation standards and policies;
  • Collaborating with Financial Controlling, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Tax teams, maintaining and owning the general direct and indirect tax ledgers, completion of the monthly accruals, direct and indirect tax journals postings and reconciliations;
  • Assist in the preparation and review of Corporate Income Tax (CIT) and VAT filings, ensuring accuracy and timely submission;
  • Provide hands-on support for tax provisioning and effective tax rate (ETR) calculations;
  • Providing support during internal and external audits; liaising with tax specialists; 
  • Assisting in process improvement and systems enhancement to drive initiatives that help scale the organization.
  • Ensure the right tax coding is applied for the processing of invoices.
     

Who you are

  • Minimum of 3 years hands on experience in tax and/or general ledger accounting; 
  • Varying experience in Regional tax accounting;
  • Experience with Workday financial systems is a plus;
  • You have experience working with multiple stakeholders/teams;
  • You are detail-oriented, with an analytical and automation mindset 
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously; ability to prioritise
  • Proactive in projects you take on, able to work independently but never afraid to ask for help;
  • You gain energy from transforming processes and making impact;
  • You possess strong communication skills, enabling you to liaise confidently with internal and external stakeholders.
