About this role

🚀 We’re on a mission to make money work for everyone.

We’re waving goodbye to the complicated and confusing ways of traditional banking.

After starting as a prepaid card, our product offering has grown a lot in the last 10 years in the UK. As well as personal and business bank accounts, we offer joint accounts, accounts for 16-17 year olds, a free kids account and credit cards in the UK, with more exciting things to come beyond. Our UK customers can also save, invest and combine their pensions with us.

With our hot coral cards and get-paid-early feature, combined with financial education on social media and our award winning customer service, we have a long history of creating magical moments for our customers!

We’re not about selling products - we want to solve problems and change lives through Monzo ❤️

📍London | 💰£50,000 + Incentive Awards tied to your performance + Benefits  ✨

📅 Start date: September 2027

Our team ⭐

Our Borrowing business is one of the fastest-growing parts of Monzo. From credit cards and personal loans to new lending products, we’re building simple, transparent ways for customers to borrow with confidence.

You’ll join a highly collaborative team where Credit works closely with Product, Engineering, Machine Learning, Finance and Risk. We move quickly, test ideas, learn from data and continuously improve the experience for our customers.

From day one, you'll be part of the team. You'll own meaningful work, solve real problems with data and help ship improvements that make borrowing better for our customers.

🚀 The scheme

Over two years you’ll complete three eight-month rotations, giving you broad exposure to how modern credit works while helping you discover where your strengths lie.

Along the way, you'll build technical skills, learn from experienced mentors and work on projects that have real business and customer impact. You'll see your work make it into production, helping shape the lending products our customers use.

Depending on your rotations, you could work  in areas such as:

  • Credit Strategy - Help answer some of our biggest questions, like who we lend to, how much we lend, and how we can help more customers access credit responsibly. You'll use data, experimentation and commercial thinking to turn those answers into action.
  • Machine Learning - Help develop and improve the models that power our lending decisions, using machine learning and statistical techniques to create better outcomes for our customers.
  • Regulatory Modelling - Build and maintain the models which help us understand future credit losses, manage capital and support Monzo’s continued growth.
  • Credit Risk Assurance - Provide independent review and challenge of lending strategies and models, helping ensure our decisions remain robust, well-governed and customer-focused.

The programme is just the start. By the end of your rotations, you'll have the skills and experience to continue growing your career across Borrowing at Monzo.

🤩 We’d love to hear from you if…

  • You graduated in 2026 or are graduating in 2027 with, or expecting to achieve, at least a 2:1 in a STEM, Economics or another highly analytical degree. We welcome applications from graduates of all levels including Masters and PhD.
  • You enjoy solving complex problems using data
  • You're curious, collaborative and excited to learn new technologies
  • You enjoy asking questions, digging into data and finding better ways to solve problems
  • You want to build products that genuinely improve customers' financial lives
  • You have the full right to work in the UK with no limitations, as we cannot provide sponsorship for this role
