Marketing at Brex

The Marketing team tells the Brex story, turning product innovation into customer obsession. We develop messaging, shape the brand, and bring our platform to life through thoughtful, compelling content. Our team spans Revenue Marketing, Product Marketing, and Brand Marketing, and works cross-functionally with Product, Sales, Business Development, and Design to drive growth and build trust.

What you'll do

You will lead Brex's performance marketing strategy and paid media investments, driving customer acquisition, revenue growth, and brand awareness across an expanding portfolio of channels.

Partnering with the Senior Director of Growth Marketing, you will scale an established acquisition engine, build an in-house center of excellence for performance and brand media buying, and lead a growing team of performance marketers. You'll own the strategy and financial performance of our media investments, balancing near-term revenue outcomes with longer-term demand creation.

With significant growth investment following Brex's acquisition by Capital One, you'll have the opportunity to shape a rapidly expanding media budget, accelerate experimentation across emerging channels, and build more sophisticated measurement capabilities to inform investment decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Own Brex's paid media strategy and investment across Brand and Growth, accountable for qualified pipeline, self-serve signups, and the revenue they produce. Brand sets campaign vision and brand KPIs; you turn them into full-funnel media plans.
  • Manage and optimize a growing, multimillion-dollar media budget, balancing acquisition volume, LTV, and incremental revenue contribution.
  • Build an in-house digital media center of excellence, transitioning brand media buying from a traditional agency model while strategically leveraging platforms and managed services.
  • Scale existing paid search and paid social programs (LinkedIn, Meta), while expanding investment in YouTube, connected TV, programmatic, and other upper-funnel channels.
  • Develop an integrated full-funnel investment strategy, connecting demand creation and brand awareness to downstream acquisition, pipeline, and revenue outcomes.
  • Partner with Marketing Operations, Data, and Finance to improve measurement, forecasting, budget pacing, and investment allocation across channels.
  • Translate existing attribution and customer journey data into actionable insights, building reporting and analytical frameworks that inform media strategy and optimization.
  • Drive rapid experimentation across channels, audiences, and creative, identifying opportunities to restructure underperforming campaigns and scale successful investments.
  • Partner with Brand and Creative teams to develop high-performing static and video advertising, providing actionable feedback on messaging, formats, and creative effectiveness.
  • Lead and develop a growing performance marketing team, establishing clear accountability, scalable execution practices, and AI-enabled workflows to increase operating leverage.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in performance marketing, paid acquisition, or digital media, with demonstrated experience scaling multichannel advertising programs.
  • Direct experience managing $30M+ in annual paid media spend (~$3M monthly), with measurable impact on customer acquisition and revenue growth.
  • Deep expertise in performance marketing and acquisition economics, including LTV, ROI, incremental revenue, and revenue-based optimization.
  • Proven ability to develop full-funnel media strategies, connecting upper-funnel brand investments to measurable improvements in downstream demand, conversion, and revenue.
  • Deep hands-on expertise in outline video, connected TV, programmatic, and brand media, plus strong paid social experience across LinkedIn and Meta. Working knowledge of paid search.
  • Strong financial acumen, including budget ownership, forecasting, investment modeling, and data-driven allocation of spend across channels.
  • Strong analytical judgment and experience translating attribution, customer journey, and campaign performance data into actionable investment decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess and improve campaign structure, channel strategy, and creative performance through rigorous testing and rapid iteration.
  • Strong creative judgment, with experience partnering with Brand and Design teams to develop and optimize performance-oriented static and video advertising.
  • Experience leading and developing high-performing teams, with a hands-on leadership style and the ability to scale execution without unnecessary organizational complexity.
  • A curious, action-oriented approach to problem-solving, with a track record of challenging existing strategies, making decisions with imperfect information, and executing quickly.

Bonus points

  • Experience scaling performance marketing in both high-volume B2C or product-led growth (PLG) environments and B2B, sales-led businesses.
  • Experience transitioning media buying from an agency-led model to an in-house team, including evaluating managed-service partners.
  • Experience developing incrementality testing, media mix modeling, or advanced full-funnel measurement frameworks.
  • Experience in fintech, financial services, or high-growth technology companies.
  • Experience leveraging AI and automation to improve media execution, analysis, and team productivity.

Compensation

The expected salary range for this role is $221,480 to $276,850. However, the starting base pay will depend on a number of factors including the candidate's location, skills, experience, market demands, and internal pay parity. Depending on the position offered, equity and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package.
