What you'll own

Own and evolve Fireblocks' internal AI platform, writing production code, setting the roadmap, and ensuring reliability, security, and scalability for the whole organization.

What they're looking for

A staff‑level engineer with deep AI expertise (model routing, RAG, multi‑agent orchestration), strong DevOps skills, and experience building high‑scale, security‑first systems, preferably from fintech or regulated environments.

Why this role matters

The AI platform underpins every AI‑powered tool across the company, enabling secure, cost‑effective, and trustworthy AI use that drives product innovation and operational efficiency.

About this role

Fireblocks is the company bringing global finance onchain. Backed by over $1 billion in capital, we are the premier digital asset infrastructure provider trusted by thousands of industry-defining financial institutions, including banks, payment providers, fintechs, and global corporates such as BNY Mellon, BNP Paribas, ANZ Bank, Western Union, Stripe, and Revolut. Built for institutional scale and security, our enterprise-grade platform and network have powered over $14 trillion in digital asset transfers worldwide.

Staff Engineer, AI Platform

The world of digital assets is accelerating in speed, magnitude, and complexity, opening the door to new ways of leveraging the blockchain. Fireblocks' platform and network provide the simplest and most secure way for companies to work with digital assets, and it's trusted by some of the largest financial institutions, banks, globally-recognized brands, and Web3 companies in the world, including BNY Mellon, BNP Paribas, ANZ Bank, Revolut, and thousands more.

Founded in 2018 and already valued at over $8 billion, Fireblocks is a SaaS platform that helps companies create innovative products on the blockchain and manage day-to-day crypto operations. We have offices in New York, London, Tel Aviv, and Singapore, and we are continuing to expand our teams to reach new customers globally.

What You'll Do

You'll own our internal AI platform — the shared foundation teams across the company rely on to build and run AI-powered tools securely and at scale. This is a hands-on Staff-level role: you'll architect and write production code, own the roadmap, and keep the platform reliable, secure, and easy to build on as it serves the entire organization.

Beyond the platform itself, you'll help drive an AI mindset across the company — spotting where AI creates real leverage, setting technical direction, and raising the bar for how teams build with it. Doing that well means working like a product owner as much as an engineer: proactively engaging stakeholders across engineering, product, go-to-market, and operations, turning what they need into a clear plan, and communicating it credibly all the way up to the executive level.

What You'll Bring

  • Vast, Staff-level engineering experience. A long track record building and running high-scale systems, still deeply hands-on with the code.
  • Real AI experience and mindset. Genuine command of how modern AI systems are built — frontier-model APIs, multi-agent orchestration, RAG, and the surfaces developers build against, from CLIs to MCP — plus the instinct for where AI creates leverage.
  • Product sense and proactive communication. You work like a product owner as much as an engineer — finding stakeholders, shaping what they need into a roadmap, and communicating it clearly from whiteboard to executive level.
  • Model routing and gateway experience. You've built or run a gateway that routes inference across providers on cost, latency, capability, and data sensitivity.
  • Measuring and improving AI systems. Comfort with unpredictable outputs — telling whether a change helped, catching regressions, and keeping quality, cost, and safety in check.
  • Security-first by design. You treat a high security bar as a design principle, not an afterthought — guardrails, least-privilege access, human-in-the-loop escalation, monitoring, and audit for autonomous systems.
  • Solid DevOps foundation. Comfortable owning the infra too — cloud, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and IaC — with a healthy security posture.
  • Cross-functional influence. You lead through ownership, partnering closely with security, legal, and finance.

Advantages

  • Background in a high-trust, regulated environment (fintech, security, or custody) where data sensitivity, auditability, and reliability are first-order concerns.
  • A feel for how large organizations work — navigating many stakeholders, competing priorities, and cross-team dependencies to get a platform adopted at scale.
  • Experience with digital assets, blockchain, or Web3 — familiarity with the domain Fireblocks operates in.

If you're an experienced engineer and a genuine AI expert who wants to shape how an entire company builds with AI — come and join us.

Fireblocks' mission is to enable every business to easily and securely access digital assets and cryptocurrencies. In order to do that, we strongly believe our workforce should be as diverse as our clients, and this is why we embrace diversity and inclusion in all its forms.
