What they're looking for

A candidate currently pursuing a Bachelor’s in Economics, Business Administration, Finance, Strategy, Operations, or a related field (or a strong equivalent background). A proven track record of taking ownership, delivering results, and thriving in fast‑moving, ambiguous environments.

About the team + role

We are building an elite team, applying frontier technologies to the world’s biggest financial problems. We’re looking for bold thinkers. Sharp problem-solvers. Builders who are wired to make an impact. Robinhood isn’t a place for complacency, it’s where ambitious people do the best work of their careers. We’re a high-performing, fast-moving team with ethics at the center of everything we do. Expectations are high, and so are the rewards.

The Special Projects team sits at the intersection of strategy and execution. We work across some of Robinhood's most consequential initiatives — from new product development to supporting the growth of emerging businesses. Our work spans the full breadth of the company, partnering closely with Product, Engineering, Research, Finance, and senior leadership to move high-priority projects forward. This is a team that gets things done and isn't afraid to tackle problems that don't come with a playbook!

As a Special Projects Intern, you'll be embedded in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment where no two days look the same. You'll contribute directly to strategic initiatives across the company, working alongside PM leaders, researchers, engineers, and finance partners. You'll be expected to bring your full skill set to every project — whether that means synthesizing data, coordinating across stakeholders, or building something from scratch. This role rewards people who are adaptable, curious, and ready to make a real contribution from day one.

This role is based in our Menlo Park, CA office with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week.

At Robinhood, we believe in the power of in-person work to accelerate progress, spark innovation, and strengthen community. Our office experience is intentional, energizing, and designed to fully support high-performing teams.

What you’ll do

  • Partner with PM leaders, researchers, engineers, and finance teams to move initiatives forward and deliver against project goals
  • Synthesize information, build frameworks, and present findings to stakeholders in a clear and structured way
  • Navigate ambiguity with confidence — managing shifting priorities and adapting your approach as project needs evolve
  • Use AI tools and relevant financial software to accelerate your work and improve the quality of your outputs

What you bring

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business Administration, Finance, Strategy, Operations, or a related field with an expected graduation date of Winter 2027/Summer 2028; strong candidates from other majors with relevant skills are encouraged to apply
  • Familiarity with financial tools and software such as Bloomberg or FactSet, and comfort leveraging AI tools in day-to-day work
  • Clear, confident communicator — written and verbal — with the ability to engage credibly with senior stakeholders
  • A track record of getting things done: someone who takes ownership, figures out the path forward, and delivers without needing hand-holding
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment where priorities can shift and structure isn't always given

What we offer

  • Market competitive compensation structure
  • Quarterly lifestyle wallet for personal wellness, learning and development, and more
  • Access to the best AI tools on the market and continuous AI skill-building for every employee, technical or not
  • Time away including company holidays, paid time off, and sick time
  • Lively office environment with catered meals, fully stocked kitchens, and geo-specific commuter benefits
