About this role

About the Company

Gemini is a global crypto and Web3 platform founded by Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss in 2014, offering a wide range of simple, reliable, and secure crypto products and services to individuals and institutions in over 70 countries. Our mission is to unlock the next era of financial, creative, and personal freedom by providing trusted access to the decentralized future. We envision a world where crypto reshapes the global financial system, internet, and money to create greater choice, independence, and opportunity for all — bridging traditional finance with the emerging cryptoeconomy in a way that is more open, fair, and secure. As a publicly traded company, Gemini is poised to accelerate this vision with greater scale, reach, and impact.

The Department: Trading Systems

The Role: Senior Software Engineer (Mobile)

Our advanced trading platform sits at the intersection of crypto, equities, and prediction markets. We're looking for a mobile-first engineer to own trading experiences across React Native and native mobile (iOS/Android), with the range to contribute to web front-end surfaces and pick up backend work as needed. You'll build order entry, position management, and real-time market data UI at wire speed, working across the stack as the platform demands.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain mobile trading experiences end-to-end: market browsing, order placement, portfolio views, and settlement flows — across React Native and native iOS/Android.
  • Architect performant, real-time UI for streaming market data (orderbook, price charts, position P&L), choosing the right mobile approach for the job.
  • Extend core trading UI components to web (React/TypeScript) where the platform needs shared or cross-surface functionality.
  • Collaborate with backend engineers on gRPC, WebSocket, and FIX integrations that power live trading; take on backend contributions (Go, Java, or Scala) as scope requires.
  • Partner with product and design to shape UX for new contract categories (crypto, equities, prediction markets) across mobile and web.
  • Scope and implement solutions independently, making informed architecture and platform tradeoffs.
  • Own projects end to end — design through delivery — working cross-functionally with product managers and stakeholders.

What they're looking for

  • 6+ years of software engineering experience, including significant production mobile experience.
  • Strong proficiency in TypeScript, and strong proficiency in Swift and/or Kotlin.
  • Experience building real-time, data-intensive UIs (trading, dashboards, live feeds).
  • Comfort picking up backend work in Go, Java, Scala, or similar as needed — full-stack curiosity over rigid specialization.
  • Understanding of communication protocols: FIX, WebSocket, REST, gRPC, or GraphQL.
  • Independent decision maker able to act decisively based on domain expertise.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with financial or trading applications (orderbooks, charting, position management).
  • Background in crypto, equities trading, or prediction markets.
  • Exposure to microservices on AWS/Kubernetes.
  • Experience with React Native, or with native module authoring bridging React Native and native code.
  • Experience at a startup or high-growth company with demonstrated ownership and autonomy.

It Pays to Work Here

We take a holistic approach to compensation at Gemini, which includes:

  • Comprehensive health plans covered at 100% for employees and dependents
  • Long-term incentive in the form of a new hire equity grant
  • Paid Parental Leave
  • Competitive paid time off

In Singapore, we have a hybrid work policy. Employees are expected to work from the office part of the week. We believe our hybrid approach increases productivity through more in-person collaboration where possible. All employees are required to onboard in-person at our office.

At Gemini, we strive to build diverse teams that reflect the people we want to empower through our products, and we are committed to equal employment opportunity regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender identity, or Veteran status. Equal Opportunity is the Law, and Gemini is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace. If you have a specific need that requires accommodation, please let a member of the People Team know.
