About this role

This is Adyen

Adyen provides payments, data, and financial products in a single solution for customers like Meta, Uber, H&M, and Microsoft - making us the financial technology platform of choice. At Adyen, everything we do is engineered for ambition.

For our teams, we create an environment with opportunities for our people to succeed, backed by the culture and support to ensure they are enabled to truly own their careers. We are motivated individuals who tackle unique technical challenges at scale and solve them as a team. Together, we deliver innovative and ethical solutions that help businesses achieve their ambitions faster.

Our Internal Communications team is hiring a Senior Communications Business Partner to help scale our global Tech organization (Product & Engineering).

What to expect

In this role, you'll build the communication systems and content that shape how thousands of colleagues across Tech connect, collaborate, and deliver impact globally.

The role is based in San Francisco. Our Internal Communications team spans San Francisco and Amsterdam, so you'll need real autonomy, comfort with ambiguity, sharp decision-making, and flexibility to travel to Amsterdam several times a year.

What You'll Own

  • Become as a strategic partner to Tech leadership, shaping and executing internal communications that align with business priorities.
  • Design a communications matrix that works across global, local, and functional levels.
  • Act as a multiplier: Empower teams by creating scalable communication approaches that enable - not bottleneck - them.
  • Lead content strategy and storytelling for high-impact Tech events, announcements, and initiatives.
  • Build communication plans that bring clarity, consistency, and momentum to cross-functional programs.
  • Translate complex technical topics into clear, compelling narratives that resonate with diverse audiences.
  • Bring creative, non-traditional approaches rather than replicating what's been done before.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven expertise: at least 10+ years of experience in internal communications, ideally supporting technology or product teams in a global organization.
  • Someone who can think big-picture but also loves rolling up their sleeves and getting the details right.
  • A listener who asks smart questions, isn’t afraid to challenge or be challenged, and cares about learning and improving.
  • A collaborator who enjoys partnering with different teams and working in a constantly evolving environment.
  • A strong storyteller and writer who can simplify complexity without flattening it.
  • Someone who is collaborative and relationship-driven - skilled at building trust with stakeholders and aligning across teams.
  • A person who is comfortable in a fast-paced, scaling environment and can bring structure where it doesn’t yet exist.
  • Curious by nature, excited to really understand how the Tech function works, and willing to dive deep.

Our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion commitments

Our unique approach is a product of our diverse perspectives. This diversity of backgrounds and cultures is essential in helping us maintain our momentum. Our business and technical challenges are unique, and we need as many different voices as possible to join us in solving them - voices like yours. No matter who you are or where you’re from, we welcome you to be your true self at Adyen.

Studies show that women and members of underrepresented communities apply for jobs only if they meet 100% of the qualifications. Does this sound like you? If so, Adyen encourages you to reconsider and apply. We look forward to your application!

What’s next?

Ensuring a smooth and enjoyable candidate experience is critical for us. We aim to get back to you regarding your application within 5 business days. Our interview process tends to take about 4 weeks to complete, but may fluctuate depending on the role. Learn more about our hiring process here. Don’t be afraid to let us know if you need more flexibility.
