About this role

Product Designer, Lending

About the role

We’re hiring a Product Designer to join Lending and help make a growing set of borrowing initiatives easier to understand and use. You’ll take high-stakes challenges across the member journey, and turn ambiguity into focused product decisions from early discovery through launch. You’ll work closely with Product, Engineering, Research, Data, and Content Design to translate sophisticated financial products into polished, intelligible member experiences. You’ll make complex flows feel natural through hierarchy, interaction, motion, composition, and adherence to technical and compliance standards.

The base salary offered for this role and level of experience will begin at $196,000 and up to $255,000. Full-time employees are also eligible for a bonus, competitive equity package, and benefits. The actual base salary offered may be higher, depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience.

In this role, you can expect to

  • Own end-to-end design across high-priority initiatives, from problem framing and early exploration through launch and iteration.
  • Set a high bar for visual and interaction craft, ensuring hierarchy, typography, layout, motion, and interaction details work together as a clear whole.
  • Shape product direction alongside Product, Engineering, Research, Data, and Content Design rather than operating only at the execution layer.
  • Turn ambiguous member and business problems into clear concepts, flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity production experiences.
  • Design thoughtfully for complexity, states, edge cases, and constraints while maintaining a clear and trustworthy experience.
  • Use research, product data, experimentation, and feedback to make decisions, test assumptions, and improve shipped work.
  • Strengthen reusable patterns and systems while knowing when a high-priority problem calls for a distinct or elevated design approach.
  • Thoughtfully apply AI as a tool that can meaningfully improve how members and teams solve problems

To thrive in this role, you have

  • A portfolio that demonstrates exceptional visual craft alongside strategic product thinking, with thoughtful attention to details.
  • A track record of taking ambitious digital product experiences from problem definition through polished execution, launch, and iteration.
  • Strong interaction design skills, with evidence of turning complex workflows and dense information into experiences that feel clear, intuitive, and refined.
  • Comfort working on high-compliance consumer products where trust, clarity, edge cases, or operational constraints materially shape the UX.
  • Fluency in Figma and prototyping tools, using them to explore ideas quickly and bring final experiences to a high level of fidelity.
  • A thoughtful approach to using customer insight and/or quantitative signals to make and explain product-design decisions.
  • Familiarity with scalable product patterns or design systems, paired with the judgment to know when a problem requires a new or differentiated approach.
