About this role

Company Description

We’re Checkout.com. You might not know our name, but companies like eBay, Spotify, Klarna, Uber, and Sony do, because we’re behind many of the digital experiences you use every day.

We are where the world checks out, enabling over 10 billion transactions yearly for more than one billion global shoppers.

Whether you want to book a holiday, order food, renew a subscription, or check out online, there’s a good chance our tech powers the payments behind the scenes. Our platform helps the most ambitious businesses deliver effortless digital experiences, at scale.

If you want to do career-defining work, you’ve come to the right place. We move fast, think globally, and believe great teams are built by hiring exceptional people with conviction, curiosity, and the desire to make an impact.

With 20 offices across six continents and London as our HQ, we’re shaping the future of fintech – and we’re just getting started.

As an Operations Administrator at Checkout.com, you will be responsible for managing and optimising our operations platform. We’re building this platform using a modern AI-first solution named Plain, and whilst previous experience with Plain is not essential, we’d like to see experience of working with similar tools such as Zendesk, Fin, Freshdesk, or others. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the configuration, administration, and overall functionality of the portal to ensure efficient and effective operations across various business functions: care, onboarding, etc. This role requires technical expertise in configuring platforms, stakeholder management, and the ability to collaborate with various cross-functional teams to enhance our customer support capabilities.

What they're looking for

  • Configuration and administration, including creation and maintenance of user accounts, roles, permissions and workflows in an Operations Platform (i.e Zendesk, Fin, Freshdesk, or other platform which requires administrative configuration)
  • Configure and manage system fields, workflows, routing, automation, etc
  • Utilise AI tools such as Claude Code to drive efficient development and clean architecture of the platform’s configuration (our Platform’s setup will be declared and deployed with Configuration As Code)
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal performance
  • Integrate the solution with other software and platforms (e.g. chat tools) to streamline operations
  • Analyse data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities to enhance operational efficiency
  • Develop and update training materials, documentations and user guides
  • Collaborate with customer support, IT, and other departments to understand business needs and implement solutions
  • Propose and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the support team
  • Ensure the Operations Platform is configured and used in compliance with company policies and industry regulations

What they're looking for

  • Experience in a fast paced operations environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues and identify root causes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Strong understanding of operation platform workflows and processes
  • Preferred experience as an Operations Administrator or in a similar role
