What you'll own

Own Qonto's daily treasury operations, managing cash flows, liquidity, and banking infrastructure while leading a team of three through the PSP‑to‑bank transition.

What they're looking for

Experienced treasury professional with hands‑on cash‑management in a licensed bank or large corporate, fluent in French, skilled with SEPA/SWIFT and treasury systems, and proven team‑leadership.

Why this role matters

The role is critical to building Qonto’s banking treasury from scratch, ensuring regulatory compliance and operational readiness as the company shifts to a full banking license.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As our Head of Treasury, you will own Qonto's day-to-day treasury operations during a pivotal moment: our transition from a payment institution to a fully licensed bank. You will manage daily cash flows, lead a team of three, and ensure we are operationally ready to meet banking regulatory requirements from day one.

You will report directly to Frédéric Giraud, our Director of Core Finance.

➡️ What you’ll do

  • Manage and optimize daily cash flows, ensuring proper placement and liquidity management under banking regulatory constraints
  • Lead your treasury team through the transition: two Treasury Managers and our Treasury & Systems Expert, who handles our banking infrastructure (SEPA, SWIFT, TMS)
  • Serve as the primary treasury contact for our banking license project - conducting the gap analysis between our current PSP operations and banking requirements, and building the roadmap to get us there
  • Execute ALM strategies defined by our ALM team and validated by the ALM Committee, translating directives into operational reality
  • Be the credible interface between treasury operations and our Product & Tech teams (Arnaud Alépée's core banking team) to ensure our systems are aligned with banking requirements
  • Work directly with our Risk & Compliance teams on regulatory implementation

➡️ What we’re looking for

  • Operational cash management: You have hands-on experience managing significant cash volumes in a bank or large corporate environment (CAC 40 / midcap). You've managed daily positions, intraday liquidity, and cash flows - not just forecasts or reports.
  • Banking environment: You come from a licensed bank or a large organization with real banking treasury constraints. You understand the difference between PSP and bank treasury operations - concretely, not theoretically.
  • Systems fluency: You're comfortable with payment infrastructure (SEPA, SWIFT) and treasury management tools (Kyriba, Murex, SAP). You don't need to be an engineer, but you need to speak the language.
  • Team leadership: You've managed a team of at least 2-3 people in treasury or finance, with different profiles and skill sets.
  • Ownership mindset: You question processes, identify inefficiencies, and take initiative without waiting to be told. You adapt quickly to new environments and build where nothing exists yet.
  • ALM execution: You've worked alongside an ALM team and know how to translate their directives into operational actions - without pretending to be the strategist.
  • French: Fluent French is required for ACPR interactions and the French banking environment.

➡️ What we can offer you

  • Real operational ownership: You'll manage significant cash volumes in a regulated banking environment - this is a hands-on role, not a strategic advisory one. You'll be in the details.
  • A transformation you'll shape: Qonto is building its banking treasury infrastructure from scratch. You won't be inheriting a polished machine - you'll be building it, and that requires someone who takes initiative rather than waiting for processes to be defined.
  • A technical dimension: You'll pilot Alioune, our systems expert, and act as the bridge between treasury operations and our engineering and product teams. Understanding payment rails (SEPA, SWIFT) and treasury tools (Kyriba, Murex, SAP) is part of the job.
  • Cross-functional exposure: You'll work closely with ALM, Risk & Compliance, and Qonto's core banking team - at the intersection of operations, regulation, and product.

➡️ Your future manager

Frédéric brings deep banking expertise from his years at Société Générale, complemented by nine years at Younited - making him uniquely positioned to guide you through this PSP-to-bank transformation. He'll provide strategic direction while giving you full ownership of treasury execution and team management.

At Qonto we understand that true diversity isn't just about ticking boxes on a hiring checklist. Apply regardless of the boxes you tick! Who knows? You may have the missing piece of the puzzle we've been searching for all along.
