This role combines new business development, executive relationship building, complex solution selling, and strong regional market fluency. The ideal candidate is entrepreneurial, consultative, and credible with senior stakeholders, and can position Adyen as a long-term strategic partner for ambitious enterprise businesses.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the full enterprise sales cycle from strategic prospecting through deal closure for merchants across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
  • Identify, prioritize, and unlock high-value enterprise opportunities in key DACH verticals through focused, selective pipeline building.
  • Build trusted relationships with C-level and senior decision-makers, and develop multi-threaded engagement across buyer groups.
  • Lead complex commercial conversations by clearly articulating Adyen’s value across payments, financial technology, and broader business outcomes.
  • Navigate long sales cycles involving commercial, product, technical, compliance, procurement, and executive stakeholders.
  • Shape deal strategy, handle objections effectively, and negotiate mutually beneficial commercial outcomes while protecting long-term value.
  • Partner closely with internal teams including Sales Support, Implementation, Account Management, BDR, and other cross-functional stakeholders to drive high-quality customer outcomes.
  • Act as a strong market representative for Adyen in DACH by bringing insight on customer needs, competitive dynamics, and regional business culture.
  • Contribute to team excellence through knowledge sharing, mentoring, and example-setting.
  • Travel and network regularly across the region to strengthen market presence and develop new business opportunities.

Who You Are

  • You have a strong track record in full cycle enterprise sales (4 years +) with measurable success winning and growing complex strategic accounts.
  • Experience selling into consumer-facing industries such as retail, digital, platforms, hospitality, e-commerce, financial services, or similar sectors where payments are strategically important.
  • Existing network across DACH merchants, partners, advisors, or ecosystem players.
  • You are highly entrepreneurial, self-directed, and resilient, with the ability to create momentum in a competitive market.
  • You are a strong prospector who can assess account quality, focus effort selectively, and build a healthy pipeline through thoughtful account strategy.
  • You build rapport quickly and establish credibility with executives, operators, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • You are fluent in both English & German in verbal and written settings, and can tailor your message to different audiences.
  • You are a strategic negotiator who can handle objections, influence decisions, and balance customer value with commercial discipline.
  • You thrive in collaborative environments and work effectively across teams, offices, and functions.
  • You bring strong understanding of DACH business culture, enterprise buying behavior, and market dynamics across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
  • You are aligned with Adyen’s values, including ownership, directness, curiosity, teamwork, speed, and ethical decision-making.
