What they're looking for

At least 5 years of technical sales experience with enterprise customers, strong ability to navigate complex product and financial discussions, and a track record of advancing opportunities from lead to close.

Why this role matters

The role expands Stripe’s platform revenue by deepening relationships with existing high‑value software platforms, feeding the company’s mission to grow the internet’s GDP.

About this role

Who we are

About Stripe

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies, from the world’s largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups, use Stripe to accept payments, grow revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the gross domestic product of the internet.

About the team

The Platform Sales team works with business-to-business software platforms to help them facilitate payments for their customers using Stripe Connect. Software platforms are businesses that build payments and financial services into their products. Platforms that use Stripe include Shopify, Xero, me&u, and Ignition.

What you’ll do

As an Account Executive on the Platforms team, focused on existing business, you will use sales and product expertise to drive growth with existing Stripe users. You will help customers understand how Stripe’s online commerce infrastructure can make payments a competitive advantage for their businesses. These customers include innovative, fast-growing software platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow a named account list. Develop account plans to win and expand business with upper middle market and enterprise companies.
  • Build and maintain relationships with C-level executives, and coordinate the right executive touchpoints.
  • Contribute to Stripe’s platform partnership strategy, repeatable processes, and scaled engagement models.
  • Develop outbound strategies to create and nurture opportunities.
  • Own the full sales cycle, from lead generation through close, for upper middle market and enterprise companies.

You are a skilled salesperson and relationship manager who can lead business and technical conversations with senior leaders, including Chief Technology Officers, Chief Operating Officers, and Chief Financial Officers. You have worked with upper middle market and enterprise accounts, understand the buyer journey, and can lead complex, consultative sales processes involving multiple stakeholders.

You can work effectively in competitive situations that require product and technical knowledge. You are analytical, can model business outcomes and quantify return on investment, and are comfortable prospecting and owning deals from start to finish. You also enjoy building sales processes, strengthening value propositions, and creating practical sales tools and assets.

Minimum qualifications

  • At least 5 years of sales experience, preferably selling a technical product.
  • Extensive experience selling a technology product or service directly, preferably at an application programming interface-first company.
  • A proven record of advancing sales opportunities from inception to close through complex, multi-party, consultative sales processes.
